Accession numbers for public collection column?[edit]
I was thinking about going through and adding the accession numbers for cells in the Public collection(s) column where applicable, so, something like:
Title
Year
Medium
Dimensions
Edition size
Public collection(s)
1997 CR no.
Foundation cat. no.
Notes
"Untitled"
1987
Glass, rubber, black and white photo, and wooden pedestal
Do you think this would be useful? Umimmak (talk) 06:21, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think that could be useful! Only reason I could think of not to would be legibility/space - especially with pieces owned by multiple collections, it might get a little crowded in the cell (thinking about pieces like Natural History or Last Light in particular). And in terms of completeness, there are definitely a decent number of collections without accession numbers (European collections in particular), and a few collections that don't have a public listing for the works (Go-Go Dancing Platform comes to mind, as it's a permanent loan and the only place with a linkable citation is a YouTube video they posted). But I think the accessions would be helpful regardless, just might need to add language clarifying that accession numbers aren't universally available for all works. 19h00s (talk) 12:51, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
