Could do with a little brushing up[edit]

This article reads quite well but it's not really "Wikipedia" in some parts. There are quite a few assertions made without being backed up and it comes across as one person's own viewpoint, e.g. the speculation that it will eventually be swallowed up by the city centre. This might well be the case but Wiki style is to cite articles to back up statements like this rather than rely on "original research". The structure could do with an overhaul too - the contents box is way too low down, plus it's a little odd to have the mention of the children's centre, and the firm of architects responsible for it, so high up in the article. Looks to me like a sly bit of self-promotion there. It's also a little long for the level of importance of the area in the grand scheme of things too. A lot of the minutiae of the local politics don't really merit inclusion IMO. Happy to help tighten this article up. --Archstanton (talk) 06:02, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have done a very little to tidy up today, but have barely started. I agree it needs brushing up and wikifying, but in view of the local history I do not think we should remove material at this stage. If you look at the 1900 tithe map you will see that it was part of a big industrial area with many back-to-back houses - an important social history here. Hundreds of houses were removed in the slum clearances of the 1960s, which must have caused great social disruption. Now it seems the same thing is to happen again though a little more gradually. It's all part of the same pattern, and part of the city's social history, so none of it should be ignored at this stage. Therefore I suggest that the article be tidied up and rearranged but no sections should be excised yet.--Storye book (talk) 19:45, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Does anyone know why it's called "Little London"? Is there any link with big London? 86.10.46.65 (talk) 15:14, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know the answer, but there is an interesting suggestion at Little London, Buckinghamshire#Toponymy. --Storye book (talk) 09:50, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lead Picture[edit]

In view of recent change which I have undone, this is to point out that the Little London Community Centre clearly identifies the area. I can't see any reason why images which could be from anywhere would be better.Chemical Engineer (talk) 07:21, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
