More footnoted info would be great on this QUALITY film![edit]

Am putting this session into "disussion" as I currently lack references to start an official section of the entry.

The book "Little Lord Fauntleroy" was a major late 19th century hit...and this 1936 was a quality film adaptation. The book is still considered a minor classic, and new film versions are still being made.

This 1936 version has a fine cast of 1936 child and supporting actors. Freddie Bartholomew was then the top male child star; young Mickey Rooney was also a top child star; the other actors were notable supporting characters of the 1930s.

Am hoping others can find references.

Am also hoping this film gets selected for major film restoration, and that the missing sections (notably where Cedric and his Grandfather first talk) get restored!Lindisfarnelibrary (talk) 20:48, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Silas[edit]

Is the Earl of Dorincourt's letter to him requesting his pleasure the first instance in the film his name is revealed? I think it was always just Mr. Hobbs prior to that. 64.228.90.87 (talk) 15:22, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gay and gout[edit]

  • Hobbs: "a bit gay wasn't he?" (referring to flamboyant painting of ancestor)
  • Ceddie's grandfather: "that's why I have the gout"

Does anyone understand the meaning of this exchange? Confused me. 64.228.90.87 (talk) 15:25, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
