Get this film to Start-class[edit]

I will have a go at raising this article to Start-quality; anybody else is invited to join in. It's not awful, but it needs a better intro, a proper plot summary, a Cast section, info on location, production and critical reception, and a small section on DVD release. Most of this will probably be available on IMDb.com but I will look for other sources too. Thanks to whoever put the infobox together and provided the image. This article is very much 'in progress'. Have added a plot summary which is perhaps too long - but the film has a surprising amount of plot. Also added a very basic cast section. Now time for someone to add more stuff. Probably me. Lexo (talk) 01:31, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chad Palomino / Brad Pitt:[edit]

There is a yawning chasm in the article: namely, the mention of Brad Pitt. It is utterly obvious that Chad Palomino is based on Brad Pitt: Tom DiCillo had numerous problems making Johnny Suede, which starred Brad Pitt. Living in Oblivion is partly based on the experience DiCillo had on Johnny Suede, and, I repeat, of course the vain Palomino character in Living in Oblivion is loosely based on Pitt. You'd have to be blind not to see this. Needs at least a mention in the "Cast" section, as in "... character is thought to based on..." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.237.130 (talk) 16:42, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the DVD commentary DiCillo actually denies that the Palomino character was based on Brad Pitt.--Sus scrofa (talk) 22:05, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you check out Tom's blog (tomdicillo.com), Tom reiterates what Sus scrofa states above.
