Where this talk page has been[edit]

Originally there was one article: Livingston College, which discussed the college and campus.

Since the College had been eliminated, someone moved it to "Livingston Campus (Rutgers University)" which made perfect sense, but it became clear that Livingston College as a historic entity didn't really belong on the same page with the still existing campus. So, I moved the college-specific info to a now separate "Livingston College" page, which is not the original "Livingston college" page.

So... If you would like to see the original talk history of this page, please go to Talk: Livingston Campus (Rutgers University), but please keep the articles separate.... Info about the physical campus and its physical history should be there, and info about the academic college's history should be here.

Sorry for all the confusion.Njsustain (talk) 12:58, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I think I've ironed out all the bugs. Everything is where it should be AND I've changed the link on Rutgers' main wikipedia page so that it directs here instead of to the school of arts and sciences page.Njsustain (talk) 13:14, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So, where are all the complainers now?[edit]

After all the complaining about the article and its alleged "negativity" toward the college, where are all the promised edits?

This is what is so annoying about Wikipedia... you spend months and years on an article, then someone swoops in one day kvetching about this and that, then after causing a big bruhaha they disappear. How annoying.

Also, isn't a bit early to be talking about Livingston College like it was buried years ago. They just graduated 750 people in their OWN graduation ceremony yesterday (May 21, 2009). Why aren't any Livingston College Alums writing about that???? Why is a College of Engineering graduate the one that's writing the most about Livingston College and Livingston Campus?

Lastly, how pathetic is it that the Livingston Campus Council's website is using Wikipedia as a "reference." Njsustain (talk) 21:04, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are the only complainer here "njsustainer" Brianlowy (talk) 17:08, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you so impatient? It took over 20 years from Centralization to the elimination of the colleges. Things take time. Are you in such a rush to read about the college? Grab some old Mediums and read! 18:42, 27 May 2009 Brianlowy (talk) 18:43, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is the beauty of it. No one owns a page. Everyone is free to contribute. Community! What a beautiful thing! Brianlowy (talk) 18:42, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe the College of Engineering grad is a Larry Livingston wannabe? Who knows? How would anyone but that person know? Brianlowy (talk) 18:42, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As for the Livingston graduation on the 21st, there will be a few more. In case you don't know, all the SAS students accepted to RU-NB before Fall of 2007 can still graduate from the college that accepted them prior to the Fall of 2007 when the colleges were eliminated. They get a choice as to which degree requirements they want to follow: LC or SAS. If I remember correctly, the diploma will still have LC on it, but signed not by the LC dean, but rather the SAS dean. Brianlowy (talk) 19:18, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You may be right--any reason you didn't edit it out? You don't seem to be shy about editing anything else. It seems like you like to complain alot. Unlike engineering, life is always perfect. - Brianlowy (talk) 18:42, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're really making nasty comments. Why don't you make some of the changes you were claiming instead of using your time to flame people and make personal insults? You are the alumnus and you are making your college look like it was a good thing it was eliminated. Njsustain (talk) 22:18, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was simply responding to your [no one else's] silly and stupid remarks. And if you think I was flaming you, you have no idea what flaming is.
I don't know what your problem is, but it just seems you have no idea what Wikipedia is all about.
As for timing, I don't work on your schedule, I work on mine.
You really love to complain, don't you. Brianlowy (talk) 17:06, 5 June 2009 (UTC
I might "like complaining" about idiotic things, but at least I'm not making an utter ass out of myself and besmirching my own alma mater. Njsustain (talk) 05:56, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please note I have restored my original text on this page which was chopped up by ol' Brian. Feel free to quote, but don't chop up the original. Editing discussion pages is not permitted, and interupting someone's text five times with commentary would be considered doing so (even if also lecturing people about Wikipedia principles while doing so). Also, please see the talk page on the "Livingston Campus" page, the original location for the discussion, to see the rest of the "complainers." Njsustain (talk) 18:49, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"As for timing, I don't work on your schedule, I work on mine." -- Of the 10s of 1000s of comments I've read on WP, this one stands out, and I just had to comment, after all this time. Mister redname's defense for being rude and unproductive was that he'll get to it when he gets to it. Hmmm... it's been over a year, so I think we can safely say his time is "never." Good work, Livingston alum. Rest in peace, LC. Njsustain (talk) 18:04, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Three years now. Thanks again for the laugh. Njsustain (talk) 18:45, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
