UNIT[edit]

Let me make this as clear as I can, with the room afforded me here. The meaning of "UNIT" was changed because the United Nations withdrew permission to use their name. If the BBC radio was to produce a Who audio adventure set in this period with good vocal doubles for Pertwee, John, Courtney, et.al., as the 3rd Doctor, Liz, the Brig, etc., they would not be allowed to say that UNIT stands for "United Nations Intelligence Taskforce", but if plot requirements were to mandate stating the organization's full name, "Unified..." would have to be given. Come to that, this is already true of any UNIT era-set Past Doctor novels or comics. Anyone looking up this article is doing so today, so that perspective has to be dealt with. It is not "total rubbish". Live with it. --Tbrittreid (talk) 21:06, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
