Request[edit]

Its in one county and close to another city. Get over it! How come every other place in Derbyshire can cope with where it is? You are not the only place with a postcode thats unusual. Some other places manage to cope. If this matters "a lot" to you then edit somewhere else on wikipedia or take up fishing. I'm surprised people can get excited about such mundane matters. This isn't religion or politics .. they are facts. Can we please have a return to reasonable debate and consensus. If this wikipedia article says its in Warwickshire then it changes its position and status very very little. Can we just stick to the facts. To second above, it's got a Nottingham postcode, but is in Derbyshire, I think confusion is caused by the laziness of shortening Nottingham to Notts. Grantham has a NG postcode but that's coped with. Bevo74 (talk) 17:39, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Many Towns & Villages in the UK do not have a Postcode that relates to its County, its all about the closeness of RM sorting offices. --palmiped |  Talk  18:10, 5 December 2008 (UTC) (Royal Mail employee, oh and I live in Nottinghamshire but have a Leicester postcode used to live in Derbyshire with a Nottingham postcode)[reply]

Request: Tidy Up of Schools Section?[edit]

Could someone who knows the details please tidy up the Schools section? Two mentions of development work at the LE School are separated by a mention of Wilsthorpe. If Gordon Brown was chancellor, the second development can no longer be regarded as 'recent'. In any case, are building works at a school important enough to include in an article on Long Eaton as a whole? There have been a lot more developments of more significance to the town, not least all the housing estates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Long Eatonian (talkcontribs) 08:13, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request: Add content about marching band (Long Eaton Militaires)[edit]

Can some please add the following content/ or simular content about Long Eaton's marching band - the Long Eaton Militaires

Along with Long Eaton's Brass band, Long Eaton also has its very own marching carnival band. Formed in 1971 by a group of talented musicians the Long Eaton Militaires Marching Carnival Band was born, its aim was to bring friendship through music. The band has twinned with over 21 global bands and has very strong connections with one in particular. The 1. Große Karnevalsgesellschaft "Völl-Freud" 1929 e.V. Tanz- und Fanfarencorps. Both bands share an iconic piece of music which has been wrote for them in particular. Friendship through music. Along with the connections made with the German band 1. Große Karnevalsgesellschaft "Völl-Freud" 1929 e.V. Tanz- und Fanfarencorps the Long Eaton Militaires has had the chance to be able to perform in front of royalty across the globe both in the UK and in China. Their uniforms are something that you cannot miss; red, white and blue, they are very iconic but with a modern and eye catching twist. The upbeat musical arrangements along with the arena display skills keep any audience engaged. 82.153.198.194 (talk) 13:44, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
