Under the list of notable residents is this listing. The part in parens is just gibberish -- eg, Colonel Robert F. CITY NAME[edit]

[ RESPONSE: Lorain City was not "originally" named 'Charleston'; it was originally named Black River Village beginning in the 1820s. ("Charleston" was a later name-change, officially applied in Jan.1837, but which its own citizens almost immediately rejected; and most of them continued to use the name "Black River village" until 1873.)
