Birthplace (again)

Hi - trying to reach the gentleman who keeps posting on Lorne Michaels page that Mr. Michaels was born in Palestine, or in a kibbutz.

This information is false.

The Wikipedia editor (PaulCHerbert) has good intent - he is citing a legitimate article - but the information in the article itself is wrong.

I work with NBC and Mr. Michaels; he was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I would be happy - if necessary - to thread you to SNL's PR team, to confirm what I am writing here.

I can be reached at - John@SocialCzars.com 646 920 1669. My personal email is johnjdemarchijr@gmail.com.

Just want this to stop happening, and unfortunately, I don't know how to solve the issue. So creating this talk page in hopes of resolving this.

Thank you!

Warm regards,

Wikipedia standards are clear. Find the information in a published reliable source. Your alleged professional or personal contacts are not relevant. Thanks. PaulCHebert (talk) 21:28, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
I've reverted Johnsaavn's edits per WP:BLP. Only one of those sources is reliable, hollywood.com, and it's reliability can be limited. I'll look over the sources that Johnsaavn disputes. --Ronz (talk) 18:19, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
The theguardian.com and biography.com refs look fine.
Nydailynews.com seems ok. I don't see what it adds.
I'm not clear what the Vanity Fair reference is being used for at all. --Ronz (talk) 18:35, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
This is turning controversial. There are references in the article from The Guardian that support the kibbutz place of birth, yet there are other Guardian stories that write about the Toronto place of birth. Many other reference support the Toronto birth place as well, including the Encyclopædia Britannica. Should there be a statement that the issue is currently not clear? If Johnsaavn does indeed have some relationship with Lorne Michaels, and if Lorne Michaels cares about where his birthplace is reported to be (in Wikipedia articles and elsewhere), then I would propose that Johnsaavn should encourage Lorne Michaels to do media interviews or release a press release to clear the matter up, and those interviews or press releases will then be citable. —DIV (120.18.167.124 (talk) 13:52, 6 March 2019 (UTC))
Johnsaavn will not be responding, at least not here; they were blocked indefinitely (8 months ago) for operating as a paid editor without disclosure (having admitted that they are a professional social media reputation manager), and for abusing multiple accounts. In popular culture

Lorne Michaels is mentioned in an episode of Married with Children. —DIV (120.18.167.124 (talk) 13:43, 6 March 2019 (UTC))

Amend Honors to include promotion (from Member to Companion) within Order of Canada

If Michaels's promotion to Companion of the Order of Canada (2018) isn't included in the Honors list, then it could seem that putting the initials "CC" after his name is an error. Rather than have readers wondering if either (a) the 2002 "Member" should be "corrected" to "Companion" or (b) that the "CC" should be "corrected" to "CM", make it clear that both are correct by listing the 2018 promotion from Member to Companion. I had to go outside of Wikipedia to find this out. What I came to Wikipedia for was to find this out. Where do I send my invoice for doing this research for you?74.64.104.99 (talk) 12:13, 30 March 2019 (UTC)Christopher L. Simpson
