what was the relationship between the Salsa and Salsa U-23? The Salsa played in the APSL in '94 and the Salsa U-23 played in USISL Pro League in '95, but apparently Paul Caligiuri played for the Salsa '95 in the USISL and he was something like 30 years old at the time. So were the Salsa he played for actually the Salsa U-23? Mayumashu (talk) 02:27, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ALT3: ... that a series of exhibition games for the Los Angeles Salsa against teams from Mexico were postponed because of a political boycott? Source: San Diego Union-Tribune; also Oakland Tribune
Overall: I would recommend either the main hook or ALT3 as they would be accessible even to non-soccer fans. Eligibility is pending User:SounderBruce's QPQ review, but once that has been satisfied I think this will be a good choice for DYK. Metropolitan90(talk) 07:10, 24 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Metropolitan90: QPQ added. I don't think the ALT0 is all that inaccessible to non-soccer fans, as the unusual situation of joining another country's league is somewhat well understood. SounderBruce 05:03, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
By ALT0, do you mean "... that the Los Angeles Salsa of the United States attempted to join a Mexican soccer league?" I thought that one ("the main hook") was fine. My concern was that non-soccer fans wouldn't know about CONCACAF or red cards. --Metropolitan90(talk) 05:25, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
