Fair use rationale for Image:0759.jpg[edit]

Image:0759.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 30 June 2022[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Mainly on the manner on whether mixtapes are distinct enough from albums to disambiguate using just the two terms. (closed by non-admin page mover)Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 18:07, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

– Transferring these move requests from the Technical requests page after User:Amakuru contested it, per RMTR guidelines. The rationale for the contesting reads: "'Mixtape' and 'album' seem sufficiently similar concepts to me, that it is helpful to disambiguate by artist as well. Indeed, a mixtape is actually a type of album."

Respectfully, I disagree with the rationale. The WP:ALBUMDAB section of our naming conventions guideline on music-related articles states, "If two or more albums share their title, but they are not from the same type, simple disambiguation will still be used, for example Title (album) and Title (EP)." Yes, Jandek's and Lanez's Lost Cause are both technically albums, but they are different types of albums; one is a studio album and the other a mixtape. Simplifying the disambiguators still applies.

  • Weak support I will say that I agree with the logic behind the contested oppose -- in my view, the difference between concepts like an album, EP, mixtape, etc are sufficiently small to make the terms not super helpful in eliminating ambiguity. However, the music naming guideline does appear to be fairly explicit here, as much as I may disagree.--Yaksar (let's chat) 14:36, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand where Amakuru is coming from, too. Albums are often used to refer to studio albums, but they're also, to a lesser extent in my view, applied to mixtapes. I think that one way to resolve this confusion is to add a hatnote on the article that lets readers know that an article on the Lanez mixtape exists. I can totally see folks type out "Lost Cause (album)" in the Google or Wikipedia search bar thinking they're gonna get Tory Lanez's work, and they get directed to Jandek's studio album instead.

  • Oppose deliberate ambiguatuion these are two albums. The artist name is needed. 07:05, 2 July 2022 (UTC) In ictu oculi (talk) 07:08, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This problem has been discussed in the past - mixtape is a subcat of album In ictu oculi (talk) 07:08, 2 July 2022 (UTC) In ictu oculi (talk) 07:08, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
