Support Even the article notes that Love Street is the more common name. Another example would be Filbert Street, which was officially the City Stadium, but far better known by the name of the road it's on. In response to Pat, I've never heard anyone call it Parkhead in conversation - it seems to only be used in the media. пﮟოьεԻ 5 7 11:12, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Support - even the club itself refers to the ground as Love Street - see this page from their official website, which says "St Mirren Football Club have completed the agreement to sell their Love Street ground...." -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 13:18, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Weak support. I think the club describing the ground as Love Street in the link given above is to avoid confusion between the two sites. The official name for both grounds is St. Mirren Park (eg1), but Love Street is clearly the common name for the old ground. I think that New St. Mirren Park will need to be moved to St. Mirren Park fairly soon, as the "new" will soon wear off; Greenhill Road (the address of the new ground) doesn't seem to have much traction in the media. Oppose move to proposed title - firstly, we disambiguate with parentheses, not commas and secondly we should not need our readers to know where the stadium is to find the article. Any additional comments:

I note that Celtic's ground is under Celtic Park, its official name, even though it is often known as Parkhead, this is not even a redirect to the ground but an article on the district of Glasgow. If you want a consistent policy of using common names rather than official names of Scottish football grounds then I suggest that might be a better place to start. We should always be using the common name if it is definitely so and is unambiguous. Parkhead is not unambiguous, and it's rather a colloquial title too (it isn't generally used in formal writing, whereas this article's subject was referred to almost universally as Love Street). Parkhead/Celtic Park is a bad place to start as finding the consensus on its common name could be difficult - I've heard both names used in conversation. St. Mirren Park is pretty much unanimously referred to as Love St, so it should be easy. Dancarney (talk) 11:30, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
