Disrepair[edit]

Sadly Lowestoft station is in a sad state of disrepair. It does not have a welcoming atmosphere although the basic structure still seems sound, much of it is boarded up in an unwashed and uncared for way. ---- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Postironicarts (talkcontribs) 09:53, 3 July 2008

Station relocation[edit]

"The Waveney Executive Summary (2008) advises that the station will be moved 350 Metres at the cost of £10 million, despite local opposition. Unlike many towns in Great Britain Lowestoft's station is centrally placed at the heart of the town with easy access to the beach and attractions."

Where is the evidence for this? At this moment in time, it is just one of a number of proposals being looked at and not a statement of fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.211.100.60 (talk) 00:31, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I live in Lowestoft, and despite it being dirty and in a state of disrepair, it still does a job. Sadly, it is most likely that Waveney will win, and rail passengers will lose out. Dennisman (talk) 15:18, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, in 1999, it was listed as a finallist in Railtrack's station of the year compettion. This isn't on the article. Dennisman (talk) 15:19, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal for direct trains between Lowestoft and Yarmouth[edit]

It has been announced in todays Journal that Network Rail want to reintroduce the direct service between Lowestoft and Yarmouth via a spur at Reedham, wonder if that's something worth reporting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.235.2 (talk) 17:00, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What is "todays Journal"? A URL would be good. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:23, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lowestoft to Liverpool via Norwich[edit]

I did not realise but there is one through train to Liverpool every morning provided by East Midlands trains.

Should it be added to list of services?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C4:7582:B200:44FD:2848:EEA6:4FFB (talk) 19:12, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

GA status?[edit]

How far is this article from a GA? Could we even get this to FA status? The only UK rail station Featured Article is Herne Hill railway station, for reference. Not looking to review it now, but wondering whether this is a contender. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 13:23, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
