Name and nationality[edit]

An unreferenced claim in the article says "he chose to become a Hungarian citizen, changed his name to Lajos Tatai" - from report of the accident in which he died his name is given as "Captian Hautzmayer" and his nationality is given as Dutch. As written, the text uses pronouns after his change of citizenship, with no need to interject 'Tatai'. The source claims he died as a Hungarian. If you have a reputable source that says differently, you are certainly entitled to edit the article.Georgejdorner (talk) 00:44, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Death date and supposed crash[edit]

The death date listed in this article and the KLM flight, in which he supposedly crashed and died, took place on different dates. I cannot find any record on this Malert crash where he apparently died while landing. Only one source I've found corroborates this information, which is the one listed in the article. It does not seem to have occurred and could be misinformation. The KLM crash may have been attributed to his death due to the dates being similar. • Your argument might be persuasive if it were supported by citations. An uncited claim is in itself dubious. In the meantime, I will re-correct the accident information. If you can come up with citation(s), then you can change the text without objection.Georgejdorner (talk) 15:25, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • O'Connor says: "On December 1936...during an approach flight to Croydon airport near London through thick fog, his aircraft struck the smokestack of a factory and crashed."
    • Franks, et al: "He flew with the Hungarian Malert airline but was killed in a crash on 6 December 1936, trying to land in fog at Croydon airport south of London."
    • The false date previously posted may have deceived you.Georgejdorner (talk) 15:44, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
