Blue River Valley Nazarene Worship Center[edit]

This small country church is the focal point of this cross roads community, located on CR 950 N (Luray Road) in Luray, Indiana. The building has gone through a number of renovations. The original building was probably built around 1860 and was moved from the hill to a level place near the road. The land that the church now sits on was donated by Solomon A. Robe in 1884. The old split logs used as floor joists are still visible in the basement. The building has a distinctive red neon cross mounted atop of the belfry tower which is recognized by many as they pass by the community on State Road 3. The church was originally a Methodist Protestant church but was given up in 1944. Then four years later the Nazarenes started a congregation. Luray Harvest Festival[edit]

The Second Annual Luray Harvest Festival was a great success on October 18, 2009. This event is hosted by the Blue River Valley Nazarene Worship Center and the community of Luray. The first year was a wonderful time with approximatley 500 people in attendance with the church provided plenty of food and IMI providing the hog for the Hog Roast. Those in attendance could enjoy old fashion games including a cake walk with the children enjoying the opportunity to ride a small train. Everyone could enjoy the music, cotton candy, snocones, popcorn and a hay ride.
