Continuously from 1853 to 1996?[edit]

It says in the article that the electorate existed continuously from 1853 to 1996. From what I've seen, that is wrong. In 1890, Akaroa (New Zealand electorate) included the town of Lyttelton.[1] It took me a while to figure out what was going on, but I've concluded that the Lyttelton electorate didn't exist in 1890, and the results in the source show that Joyce was returned, and Joyce represented Akaroa in 1890, which is confirmed in numerous other sources.[2][3] I'll leave this here for a week and if nobody brings any evidence to the contrary, I'll change the article accordingly. History section[edit]

The history section of the article needs a bit of work. I have also changed the quality of the article down to start-class. J947 03:42, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
