The author's notability can be verified from a search in google books. He's a very well known historian. The first draft was heavily from the Calicut University profile. That source doesn't mention any copyright.Anyway I've subsequently added other info to it. NMKuttiady (talk) 08:10, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is a major rewrite of the article Talk:M.G.S._Narayanan/Temp. If it's fine, pls move it to the main page. The man has nothing to do with me. I just added a page on him because he is a very relevant personality in my favorite subject - History. Hope this if fine.NMKuttiady (talk) 16:40, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Undue, WP:Peacock, and other issues[edit]

I have removed much from this article. The edit history suggests a spate of additions and bulking by mostly WP:SPA (e.g. User:Hareeshh). They may not be aware of our BLP, notability and other content guidelines. To repeatedly say, "[...] is among the few southern Indian historians known nationally and internationally" and "also a specialist in ancient Indian history" etc, then cite a newspaper or particularly the university website where he worked, is not okay. A "historian known nationally and internationally" would have such statements in scholarly papers, reviews and international festschrift. All claims to discovering inscriptions, scholarly fame and scholarly notability should be supported by scholarly citations, not the website of a school where the person worked per SPS and COI. There is still more trimming we can do to this article. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 02:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have once again remove WP:SOAP and WP:Coatracking from this article. This is a BLP article, and the content should really be carefully summarized from peer reviewed scholarly sources and such, if it is notable. Please discuss if you want major reverts, and do ping WBG and me. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 04:05, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
