The result of the move request was: moved per request. Not a huge turnout, but the case is well-argued and there has been no opposition, so I'll go out on a limb and call it. Favonian (talk) 18:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

M109M109 (disambiguation)M109 howitzer is the primary topic. Of the five other conceivable targets for M109, only Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Barrett XM109 come close in views (page views). I doubt many people are searching for the Barrett rifle, since it apparently never left R&D ("XM"-type-classified weapons usually lose the "X-" in their name when they are accepted for service, but that never happened.) The Messerschmitt is more often called the Bf 109 or possibly even Me 109, but "M109" as shorthand just seems dubious. M109 should redirect to M109 howitzer, and the latter should get a hatnote to the disambiguation page (just like how M113 redirects to M113 armored personnel carrier), which includes a hatnote to the dab. Also the M-109 redirect to the highway should probably be retargeted to "M109 (disambiguation)" since the howitzer model number is often hyphenated. • Support per nom. Clear primary redirect. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is a highly notable topic, but is not commonly referred to as the M109. It was actually called the Me 109. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:32, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment from Google Scholar, this seems like a poor move, [1][2] it's mostly not about the howitzer. -- 65.92.247.17 (talk) 00:04, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
