Lanes[edit]

6 lanes wide mostly, 8 lanes for the middle part near Mays Hill and 2 lanes in each direction on both ends.

Yeah, but could you write it consistantly with what was already there? Saying it is "mostly X lanes wide" implies that it varies somewhat between Penrith and it's abrupt finish.Garrie 23:23, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Might be worth mentioning here that there is a short 4 lane section south of Parramatta, (just west of the old toll gates) which causes massive queuing during the rush hours. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.106.226.214 (talkcontribs) 02:51, 20 November 2011

Western Distributor[edit]

Do you have a reference for this (originally) being the start of the "F3"? I'm sure I saw an old street directory where it was listed as "F2", which makes sense in that it was also the North-Western Freeway, as admitted on this page already. As far as I know, the F3 would end as it joins the F2, and the F2 itself would run from Darling Harbour to Castlereagh. 203.22.17.215 04:17, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't know if it is possible to get access to old copies of the Journal of The Institution of Engineers, Australia as it was back then. There was an article in their magazine when the road opened, which clearly described it as the end of the F3 freeway. My understanding is that the article was based on information supplied by the then Department of Main Roads. --Athol Mullen 04:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

M4 East[edit]

Not sure why the 'citation needed' was added to the end of this section. It's pretty common knowledge by anyone who traverses this area that the traffic is a shambles during the morning and evening rush hours. I use one of two residential streets north of Metro 4 every day, (Lyons Road west or Queens Rd) and the traffic is pretty bad. Like the many other 'black' areas of our gridlocked Sydney road system, these go unreported by the traffic authority, as it's considered 'normal'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.106.226.214 (talkcontribs) 02:51, 20 November 2011

An observation does not provide a neutral point of view to the article. Imagine someone reading the article sitting in New York or Tibet or Timbuktu; how would they know what is written is factual. It's very simple, please back up opinions with citations from reliable third party sources. Here's a link to a news article that you may like to use to prove your claim. I've not read it in detail; so please make sure that it backs up your claim that the traffic in this region is slow / getting worse. Cheers, and happy editing. M4 Western MotorwayM4 Motorway (Sydney) – Like the M5 Motorway (Sydney) article, the article now consists of two or more M4 sections with their own names. The outcome and format of this article should roughly follow the M5 article. Marcnut1996 (talk) 22:49, 18 February 2020 (UTC) Relisting. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 14:36, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support, seems logical given there's multiple M4 sections with their own names - Evad37 [talk] 01:04, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
