Has Jayson Williams been profiled on the show? I've seen it referred to.

Set up?

There have been rumors, and I believe strong ones at that, suggesting this show is set up. That is, the celebs really DONT live in these houses, rather MTV sets them up inside the homes to create an air of lavishness to the celebrity.

• Today, on the UK's TMF channel (an MTV affiliate) they are showing "Top 50 Cribs". As I have nothing better to do with my life today, I am watching the whole thing (tough week at work, it's cold and wet outside, and the woman is out shopping). I have just seen the same Floridian house twice in half an hour, each time similarly furnished.... Previously while watching the series I have been sure I have seen certain properties more than one once. If it ain't a fix (and I do remember also seeing reports that the programme was largely but not entirely fixed) then some homeowners are at least "renting" out their house to friends or other people desperate to be on the show and pretend they have cool bachelor pads or opulent palaces to show for their "efforts". I mean, come on, are you not always suspicious when some drugged-up, gun-totin', basketball t-shirt wearin' bum of a rapper shows you round a spotless, marble-floored, pastel scatter-cushioned palace designed to appeal to a teenaged wannabe princess or Ivana Trump? ;o) 86.17.246.29 14:52, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

It is well known that the vast majority of the houses featured on MTV Cribs aren't actually owned by the stars who purport to own them. Most of the time they are rented by either the show or the star's producer who then allow the star to spend a sort of 'free holiday' of a few days in the house in return for filming the episode. This is why you have observed that most the time the stars don't seem to know much about the house they supposably own and why most of the houses are decorated more like a hotel than a home (e.g. no/few personal photos on walls). Amusingly, it is also why half the time not all the stars' cars (which from what I've read they normally do actually own) even fit in the garage. A breach-of-privacy lawsuit was brought by the actual owner of Ja Rule's supposed Crib a couple of years ago (http://www.rapnewsdirect.com/0-202-259408-00.html).

A few of the stars do actually own their "cribs", Snoop Dog and Sir Richard Branson are examples. On most of the other shows however, if you listen carefully, you'll notice the stars don't actually claim to own the house, they just say something vague like "this is where I live" or "this is the place I call home", both of which are technically truthful, despite being extremely - and intentionally - misleading. MTV Cribs - Katrina

Can a link to our film be added to this article? This film is a parody of MTV's "Cribs," adapted to the devastated homes of New Orleans due to Hurricane Katrina. Produced and filmed by Katrina victims in their hometown of St. Bernard Parish, on the outskirts of New Orleans. Includes man giving tour of destroyed home, falling through second floor, eating out of Katrina refrigerator, chasing a looter, jumping in a Katrina swimming pool, and much more. It also includes a parody of Kanye West's and Mike Myers's famous clip from "A Concert for Hurricane Relief." Here is the link: Katrina Cribs

Seann William Scott

I noticed that there is no mention of the episode where Seann William Scott shows off his trashed apartment in Hollywood. The episode was aired sometime around the "Dude Where's My Car" release. The episode is classic because he was showing off an apartment that was falling apart - dead fish in the fish tank, clothes hidden underneath a recliner, a three week old can of tuna fish in the fridge. Anyone have more information on this episode? Missing Episode on list

You are missing the episode with Joel Madden, Teddy Geiger, and Osi Umenyiora.

I see the episode you mention is now included. But still missing are the episodes with Ne-Yo, with Ian Grushka & Jet Terry and with Benji Madden, and perhaps even more episodes. I think they belong between episodes 85 and 86, but don't know for sure. --Eegee (talk) 00:38, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

SuChin Pak

In the beginning of the article it states "The show was originally narrated by Ananda Lewis and *is now* narrated by SuChin Pak of MTV News," and then in the third one "The show *is also no longer* voiced by SuChin Pak." I have no idea whether whether they do or not, so someone needs to update the first sentence. Ayashe (talk) 13:13, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
