Merge MaK G1206 article ?[edit]

Another article about this locomotive series exists as MaK G 1206. As the MaK and Vossloh G1206 are exactly the same locomotive type (apart from a few cosmetic changes throughout the years, and different engine types), why a second page should exist ? I propose to merge the MaK article into this article, as more articles link to the Vossloh article than the MaK article.. --Btrs (talk) 15:17, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fleet summary/operators[edit]

Suggesting converting to table form...

Also intending to remove individual loco information - too much info...

Any comments/suggestions?Carrolljon (talk) 17:21, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Go for it, I created most of the article, but agree it is unwieldy and while more info is good, as you can see I ran out of steam (diesel?) so it is a bit unbalanced. Talltim (talk) 13:13, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ok I'm getting round to it in the next few days.
One problem is that the leasing companies hire them out for short periods - one angel trains g1206 had 3 different operators in 1 year!
As such it's practically impossible to deal with the fleet details in .. detail. (it would run to many pages)
Nevertheless I have a plan.
I'll leave you a message when I've finished on the article - hopefully you will find it an improvement.
Best wishes.Carrolljon (talk) 14:04, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New page[edit]

New title, more info, operators covered in passing only - because the situation is too detailed to cover here..

Suggest adding links to sites containing fleet details at the bottom if anyone has them.

For the record the previous version (before I redirected) is here:http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vossloh_G1206&oldid=266142026

Hope I haven't got this wrong... Carrolljon (talk) 20:04, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dimensions[edit]

Given the British Rail loading gauge and structure gauge, what were the dimensions of British Rail version of the Vossloh G1206? Those of British Rail Class 21? Peter Horn User talk 02:00, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
