Merger proposal

I propose that Magic 105.4 FM be merged into Magic Radio.

Magic Radio was a national network of radio stations in the UK, one of which was Magic 105.4 FM. On 5th January 2015, all of the stations except Magic 105.4 FM relaunched to create the Bauer City 2 network whilst the remaining station, Magic 105.4 FM, was re-branded to take-over the Magic Radio name (website:'https://planetradio.co.uk/magic/').

Therefore I would propose that:

• the two pages be merged into Magic Radio, as 'Magic 105.4 FM' is now a historical brand
• the content from the Magic 105.4 FM page should form the main content of the page as this refers to the still-active station
• the content from the Magic Radio page should form part of the History section on the page, alongside the history of Magic 105.4 FM

Full disclosure, I work at Magic for Bauer Media who owns both the current Magic 105.4 FM radio station and the former Magic Radio network.

As someone who works for Magic you will be able to answer this and make it easier for a consensus to be reached. Is there any difference between Magic 105.4 London and the national Magic station such as London news, information and advertising?

My first thought is that the articles should remain separate but I think that the names should be changed, especially Magic 105.4 which should be titled Magic Radio with the article updated to make it clear that it is now a national station rather than a London station as it once was. The Magic Radio article could be renamed Magic AM. Rillington (talk)

All music and programmes are the same across the UK, but there are different news bulletins, travel news and commercials for London and national.

Thinking about it again, I do think that Magic 105.4 should be renamed Magic Radio and the current Magic Radio article, which is about the old north of England Magic network, should be retained as a separate article and renamed Magic (radio network) as Magic AM can't be used as it was the name of one of the station stations. I've renamed the weird Magic (Radio) article title to Magic Radio (London radio station) so that it uses the proper station name and tells people what it is. May be worth moving Magic Radio to Magic Radio (AM radio network) if that station is no longer on the air, and using the "Magic Radio" title for the London station. --Lord Belbury (talk) 17:33, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
