Compliment

Whoever wrote the storyline and charachter sections is a F genious ;)

Well, you're welcome. 71.111.216.239 23:44, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

This page is an absolute masterpiece :D Mobylon 18:55, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

POV

As said by User:67.182.139.95: Someone Please Edit This Article. Read it through, it is very opinionated towards the "Magic Bullet" -- Tomcat 07:40, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Clean up

I felt that this seemed like the autual advertisement.I had to delete a lot of sentences and revert so that it at least seemed neutral. Now it is somewhat neutral.Anyway, please try to add some useful, enclyclopedic information.Thank You. Josh215 22:16, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

It's much better, but as You already said, it's still not really perfect. I'm leaving the POV warning in for now. :) -- Tomcat 21:05, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

yo what the hell, all of those quotes were taken directly from the infomercial...who cares if its neutral? if someone wants product opinions they shouldnt be going to wikipeida

Exactly. They were taken directly from the infomercial. Wikipedia does care if it's neutral, and the infomercial is not. You are totally right that people shouldn't read product opinions on Wikipedia, and that's exactly why the product article can't have the infomercial text. Because people want information that the infomercial can't provide. -- Tomcat 20:34, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

YEAH! For example, some people want to know whether Mick & Mimi are married or where all those other people came from.

Berman came stumbling in from outdoors, it's easy to assume that he spent the night in the bushes. - 24.215.63.110 06:38, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Storyline

Are Mick & Mimi married? Also, were they working in a boarding house?

Well, considering how unattractive Hazel is, I think it's safe to scratch out that they had an orgy. - 24.215.63.110 06:38, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
you shouldn't throw that idea out so quickly. cma 23:27, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Huh? 71.111.215.224 20:50, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

I guess they must be married. 71.111.232.40 19:17, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Besides, they wouldn't dare have an orgy. Especially not on TV. Kids might be watching. 71.111.232.40 01:16, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

By the way, what rock did Hazel crawl out from under?

Probably the same rock everyone crawls out of, her mother's stomach. :) 71.111.216.239 22:51, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Mick Says "Outstanding!"

Someone should link to Mick Hastie's Wiki page, as he is the host with the most. - 24.215.63.110 06:45, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Nachos anyone?

Berman touched me with broccoli.:( He also said FALCOR!

How Awesome

Is This Commerical. I think its so funny, and my dad actually bought a set a few weeks ago, but we only use it to make milkshakes because its lighter than a Cuisinart. Anyways i added that bit about hazel cuz its really wierd how her cigarette never changes length but shes always smoking it. Avenged Evanfold 01:39, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

criticism

This article needs some criticism, there must be some kind.Patcat88 19:31, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Favorite Line

When describing how fast the Magic Bullet is at making something, Mick says "As fast as Bob's your uncle, Betty's your aunt".

"Bob's your uncle" is an old saying meaning "all is well". I saw it on ExpoTV. 71.111.216.239 23:42, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

YTMND

I love this infomercial. It would be really cool if someone could make a "Yuck, I hate broccoli" YTMND. Or at least get a sound file of Berman saying it.

accent

whats with micks accent. He is an australian who now lives in the US but appears to have a northern english accent

I agree.I thought he was Engliush until I read his page.Serenacw 00:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Included in the Magic Bullet

"The version available in retail stores does not include the full-size blender vessel or the and juicer attachment"

In Australia, many retail stores include the blender and juicer as part of the set. Also, some include the recipe book.Serenacw 00:43, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Magic Mix

Does anyone know the actress who plays Hazel?

Also a cheap knockoff of the Magic Bullet has surfaced in New Zealand, known as the "Smart Mix". It is literally exactly the same as the Magic Bullet except for a different name and logo, down to the "comfort lids". It as advertised as "Similar to as seen on TV!" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.185.7.39 (talk) 04:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Mick doesn't remove the guacamole with a 'plastic knife', but with a small spatula. Thus, technically, he doesn't "use a knife".
  • I just want whoever deleted the conspiracy theories section to know that I am at a rally right now with over 400,000 people protesting the magic bullet and claiming the conspiracies. MooCow 03:34, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • The fact that somebody would remove such a chillingly plausible theory is despicable. - 23twentythree 3:19, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • To 71.108.252.142, just about everyone knows someone who knows a guy that dated a chick that owned a Magic Bullet. You might hear the same story from any small town in the world. The real question is, why are you reading a wikipedia article on the magic bullet? *cough*loser*cough* -Pdelongchamp 11:03, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  • The evidence such as a the nicaderm quote "There is no magic bullet" or what Condalezza Rice said "There is no magic bullet" were totally taken out of context and you know it. Why would a company make a fake product such as the magic bullet just to trick people. There would be much more effective and easier ways to steal from people. This is dumb.
  • The product exists... I own one... It was not hard to get... There is no conspiracy here. To those who are ignorant of the REAL meaning of "magic bullet" look it up in wikipedia, and you will see why a comment like that quoted is completely accurate and has nothing to do with this product. I have removed and altered some of the information, and removed the dispute.

Disputed

Ok, guys. The article is for an actual product, and does contain some factual information, but isn't this stuff better suited for Uncyclopedia? If it doesn't get fixed, I'm putting it up for deletion. StvnLunsford 21:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

No no, this is great. It made my day to see the "plot" of an infomercial described in detail in an encyclopedia, together with biographies of all the "characters".
You're presumably referring to the information about the infomercial. I don't see how this infomercial is any different from a movie, or why it should be treated any differently from one.

Things Cut from Infomercial

To whoever added the parts about the carrot juice and airtight lids, thank you! I had completely forgotten about those parts.

-- Wvoutlaw2002 here. It was actually me who added those parts. One other part I failed to mention that was also cut from the original infomercial was Fred's line of "That's very sneaky" before Wilma's line "And the kids will never know".

What's this entry about?

There a paragraph about the product, then the rest is about the infomercial. What gives? Is the infomercial of such importance to merit such coverage? --72.202.150.92 06:28, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes. The infomercial is of great notoriety, and some cultural significance. Algabal 02:40, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Characters

I removed the caracters section from the article. I included it below.Pdelongchamp 19:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Mick - Host. He is Australian, although he sounds English. Loves party drinks and curry powder.
  • Mimi - Hostess. Her relationship to Mick is unclear, though the two seem to be romantically involved. She loves mangos, raspberries, and milkshakes made with chocolate bars and peppermint candies. She playfully mocks Mick's love of curry powder when they make chicken salad.
  • Berman - Caustic, overweight bald man. The "party animal" of the bunch, he shows up in the kitchen with a hangover (the result of the previous night's barbeque), for which Mick and Mimi both tease him. Hates broccoli.
  • Hazel - Older woman with a raspy "smoker's voice", glasses and unkempt hair dressed in bathrobe. Has a partially-smoked, unlit cigarette in her mouth for most of the presentation, though it disappears and reappears over the course of the show. Hates chopping garlic. (Note: In the Australian broadcast of this advertisement, she is highly edited. Only showing parts where she is not smoking. Only seen saying "Chopping Garlic")
  • Wilma - Fred's wife. She is a mother who laments that her children don't eat enough vegetables. She can see herself using the Magic Bullet every day.
  • Fred - Wilma's husband. Loves nachos. (Wvoutlaw2002 here. I don't think he was ever officially named Fred, unless he was in the original cut.)
  • Ike - Seems to have a constantly glazed expression. Likes omelettes with "everything" - namely ham, tomatoes, onions, and cheese.
  • Ike's wife/girlfriend - Constantly amazed at the versatility and speed of the Magic Bullet and, like Wilma, can see herself using the Magic Bullet every day. Her name is not given during the entire presentation, although fans of the show often refer to her as "Blondie". In the recent infomercial for the Magic Bullet to Go, she was referred to as Tina, and she was accompanied by a new man instead of Ike. (As with Fred and Wilma's names being an homage to Fred and Wilma Flinstone, Ike and Tina could be an homage to Ike & Tina Turner.)

Bring Back the Character Descriptions

History

I really don't think that "They wanted what every American wants" is very encyclopedic. Provided that there is no objection, I will rewrite that section in 24 hours. Shralla 07:54, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Obviously a significant topic for an article but....

This article is in need of a serious clean-up. I found this (see below) in the discussion archive, but the character list in the actual article is quite different (it includes a character named 'Bourbon'). Anybody whose interested in the product/infomercial might like to put some work in here. The infomercial has a cult following so I'm sure there are a few of you about.
