Intro text

"In June 2012, Man was demoted from the FTSE 100, due to a decline of market capitalization.[6] In November 2012, Man was deleted from the MSCI index.[7] On 27 February 2013 a Man Group trader was arrested by police on suspicion of insider trading [8] a day before announcing a $784m loss." - shouldn't that be at the end of the history section? Seems to be biased if this is featured so prominently. (intentionally not changing it because of WP:COI as employee). 92.20.98.215 (talk) 22:16, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

History

"In November 2012, Man was deleted from the MSCI index.[12] On 27 February 2013 a Man Group trader was arrested by police on suspicion of insider trading.[13]" - should there be a clarification that the FSA informed Man that their investigation concerned the individual's actions as a private individual and not as an employee of Man or GLG Partners? Will not update myself because of WP:COI as employee, but concerned that this needs to be clarified as it could imply link between alleged actions and company. Clear reference here: [1] PaulUKFS (talk) 15:08, 9 May 2013 (UTC) ?

Lind-Waldock

I removed the reference to Lind-Waldock because LW is owned by Refco, LLC, which was the company actually acquired by Man.

Actually Man acquired Lind-Waldock as well, they run as an independent retail division. http://www.lind-waldock.com/vhome/vh_about.shtml

Name?

Why is it called Man? --AW 20:04, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Third line down "founded by James Man"

AHL

Take a looks at Man's relationship to their flagship fund, AHL. Talk about "flying on one engine"--Justinlexington (talk) 21:40, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Man Group logo.gif

Image:Man Group logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 16:34, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Original company name from 1783

What was the name of the company when it was originally founded. If the grandsons were ED & F Man, I assume the company was named after James Man in 1783. Does anyone know? |► ϋrбanяeneωaℓTALK ◄| 15:51, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Need to change Reference #7

The link in reference #7 links to an obsolete website (strauscom.com) that contains information that is some years out of date. The link should go to ED&F Man's website www.edfman.com I'm unable to edit and hope someone can do this for me, thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Damunchkin (talkcontribs) 12:14, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

The link you give is just to the top level of the web site and does not support the information that the reference is attached to. The old link is still valid. Keith D (talk) 13:14, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
