Reevaluation of "Stories since Seventy-Nine" merger[edit]

This article previously did not contain sufficient citations to verify the notability of the subject, and it was decided to merge SS79 with Manafest. However, I suggest we reevaluate this decision in light of the recently uploaded lyric video (a reference has been added in the Ss79 article) and the upcoming music video for one of the songs on the record. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ben.kenobi.wan (talkcontribs) 01:11, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Placename[edit]

This is a Canadian article. WP:CANPLACE applies. Use the provinces. Alaney2k (talk) 15:36, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And here I thought it was a Christian music article with a readership of primarily non-Canadaians. The subject's sales would tend to agree.
Also, the naming convention in CANPLACE is disputed, mostly because you're unwilling to change it. Why do we have to go over this ever time you get a bee in your bonnet about naming? Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:08, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
On the wp:Canada board, people have asked for the use of provinces, which is what wp:canplace was put in place for. If we are talking about updating wp:canplace, then a change does require a consensus. I have offered several compromises and suggestions. You seem to want to revert to not using the province at all, which is also clearly unlike the common practice used on however many thousand biography pages of Canadians there are here. Provinces are useful to indicate when a person moves from one area of the country to another, for example. It's all useful and not harmful. Alaney2k (talk) 16:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever yas do, just don't delete Canada from placename. It's frustrating enough that the British seemingly refuse to use United Kingdom. GoodDay (talk) 16:34, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen that. The arg seems to be that "people can figure it out by clicking." But you would not accept that at school, and I believe we attempt to write at a good level. Alaney2k (talk) 17:15, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you would accept that at school, and more importantly, we keep things simple and terse. We don't add unnecessary redundancy. We don't use "first ever", simply "first", etc. Walter Görlitz (talk) 16:05, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
