How the **** is his real name spelled?[edit]

Hallick or Halac? The article keeps going back and forth. I don't know which is right, but someone who does needs to fix this, pronto!04:47, 26 January 2008 (UTC)~

It's hard to say. A search for "Mike Halac" brings up only 25 hits, but some are high school wrestling results. That could be him. Ultimately, though, a search for "Mike Hallick" gets 1,610 results, so it makes sense to go with it for now. GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:47, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see someone has changed it to Halac, based on a Facebook page. I don't have Facebook, so can only see the outline. Can someone investigate to see if this is actually him, not just a fan page? It's not impossible that Mike likes a page called "Mantaur Mike Halac Tribute", but it strikes me as fishy. InedibleHulk (talk) 18:53, July 18, 2013 (UTC)
I can see it and I'm leaning towards legit. Although the account has few status updates, I don't think a fan page would write "Hello Wrestling Fans, Come out to the RailWay Inn, Council Bluffs,Iowa tonite at 5pm, and see myself , MADD MUSTAFA and Johnny Deadpool -vs- Brian Blade and Alex The Great... ALL TIX ONLY $5........SEE YOU THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or "PRO WRESTLING TONITE AT THE RAILWAY INN 115 SOUTH 12TH STREET CB,IOWA BELL TIME 7 30 PM MANTAUR IS GOING TO CRUSH SOMEONE......... or To all my friends who sent me b-day wishes yesterday,i want to say thank you very much, it really means a lot to me.....mike So... Halac. Starship.paint (talk) 05:15, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that sounds legit. Thanks. InedibleHulk (talk) 16:29, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually Hulk, any reason why the article's not called Mantaur? That should be the common name? His most exposure was on television, and the only promotion which provided television coverage is WWF. From cagematch.net, in WWF he wrestled 19 matches as Mantaur (including Rumble 1995) and only 2 matches as Tank (in The Truth Commission) on WWF Shotgun Saturday Night (is that like Saturday Morning Slam LOL). Starship.paint (talk) 01:36, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It would make sense, especially now, with the series of retitles we're having. If you want to throw it on the pile, I'd support it.
Shotgun Saturday Night had a lot more "attitude" than Saturday Morning Slam. It wasn't even in arenas in the beginning, but bars. Pretty cool atmosphere, I found. You should YouTube them. But then it turned into just another Heat/Velocity/new Superstars deal, with the early matches from RAW and SmackDown tapings, promos and video packages. Saw the discussion at WP:PW, would also support a move to "Mantaur". Seems to be uncontroversial so no need for a RM. I am not sure why all these 90s wrestlers articles got moved to their real names in the first place. STATic message me! 03:53, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No opposition here or at WP:PW so I'll go ahead and move it. McPhail (talk) 19:14, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Leroy Howard and Gary Scott[edit]

I removed some wording suggesting the notability of these two jobbers, as well as generalized their professions. A Google search for Howard finds a featherweight boxer (not super-middleweight) by that name, who competed in the late 50s/early 60s. Googling Scott finds some references labeling him a "karate instructor" (and alleged child molestor), not a "martial arts expert". If references establishing notability and backing up former descriptions can be found and added, this sentence can be reverted. InedibleHulk (talk) 03:16, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mike HalacMantaur – This is the better known name of the individual. This avoids the uncertainty about the spelling of Halac's surname. This will allow far more direct linking. 43,600 Google hits for "Mantaur", compared to 1,540 for "Mike Halac". McPhail (talk) 19:19, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support as nominator. McPhail (talk) 19:20, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as uncontroversial. STATic message me! 19:43, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Considering we're not entirely sure how accurate our current article title even is, and that Mantaur is obviously his common name, I easily support this move.LM2000 (talk) 19:47, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • MOOO!!! That is, I support it. InedibleHulk (talk) 19:53, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah - uh huh, support, ooh Starship.paint (talk) 08:51, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
