Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on September 5, 2022.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that overcrowding at the Marine Air Terminal prompted one airline owner to buy a boat?

Architecture[edit]

The building is described as having "a central circular core of two stories with an attic from which a rectangular entrance pavilion and two symmetrically opposed one-story wings project." To my mind, this requires commas surrounding "with an attic" or else it means that the entrance pavilion and wings project from the attic. Czrisher (talk) 16:40, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"It was recently announced that effective November 10th 2017 as part of the LaGuardia Airport Redevelopment Project Delta Airlines will cease shuttle operations out of the Marine Air Terminal. They will consolidate their operations: all Delta flights (including the Shuttle) will operate out of Terminals C & D.

As a consequence, it is necessary for additional airlines to relocate. Effective November 11th 2017 American Airlines will consolidate all of their operations to Terminal B. Virgin America (now Alaska Airlines) and JetBlue will relocate their operations from Terminal B, to the Marine Air Terminal (Terminal A.)"

old and active[edit]

"the only active airport terminal dating from the first generation of passenger travel in the United States" — I don't know, isn't Lunken Field still active? Surely not for seaplanes, and certainly not quite so pretty architecture, but I think still serving as terminal building. Or do you only count international tourism?" --BjKa (talk) 12:55, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
