Including Mark's exact birthday

I removed Mark's exact birthdate because of the following I read on referencing famous people:

Wikipedia includes exact birth-dates for some famous people, but including this information for most living people should be handled with caution. While many well-known living persons' exact birthdays are widely known and available to the public, the same is not always true for marginally notable people or non-public figures. With identity theft on the rise, it has become increasingly common for people to consider their exact dates of birth to be private information. I know they can find it on IMDB, but there isn't really anything we can do about that. I personally think that adding Mr. Evanier's exact birthdate just because another website has it is like when your parents used that timeless phrase, "Well if everyone else was jumping off a bridge..." heh. :P That's why I edited it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by The One Watcher (talk • contribs) 18:37, May 4, 2007.

I agreed with TOW's original conformance with the guidelines. However, The current entry is from a source where Evanier revealed his own date of birth willingly. I checked with him via email and confirmed that he is okay with Wikipedia listing it. As such, I believe it should now stay. Date of birth

There are now two different birth dates in the article. The one in the infobox is different to the one in the text. March is the right one ? -- Ilion2 19:11, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

"Is Mark Evanier Mentally Ill?" blog link

The blog "Is Mark Evanier Mentally Ill?" (IMEMI) is a comic art fan blog that occasionally takes potshots at Evanier. It's hardly a source of studied analysis. Checking the front page today, the only reference to Evanier is the text "ON THIS THANKSGIVING I MUST GIVE PROPS TO THE BIGGEST TURKEY OF THEM ALL, MARK EVANIER," and an unflattering photo of him. Poking around, I'm finding insults, very brief snarky comments on quotes from Evanier, and some general whining. How is this a useful general reference site for Wikipedia? To appear in the "External Links" section, someone following the link should arrive at a page directly relevant to the topic (Evanier, in this case). This section contained a lengthy discussion of Evanier's opinion of the inker Vince Coletta. It was very hard to follow, and most importantly it contained too many long quotations from non-RS sources to really be appropriate for a talkpage, so I have blanked it. Pronunciation

On Wikipedia, a lot of notable people with uncommon or unusual names receive IPA pronunciation after the initial name. As I have heard Mr. Evanier's name pronounced multiple ways and I can find no source for its pronunciation, I believe that this would improve his article. 69.27.233.254 (talk) 19:05, 17 August 2010 (UTC)

General corrections made July 13, 2018

Some beat me to it, and I recall that Wikipedia can frown on self-referenced statements, but Mark Evanier did request a number of corrections on his blog today, here.
