Edit Request / COI[edit]

My name is Sophie and I work in the communications team at Sainsbury’s.

I’m aware of Wikipedia’s COI rules, and so I wanted to ask for some help in reviewing and building out this stub entry. I'd be really grateful if an editor would review the entry and consider my suggestions:

1. Amend middle name from ‘A’ to ‘Anthony’. Source Companies House

2. Update first line to: ‘(born in November 1950 in Malta) is a British businessman and has been chairman of Sainsbury’s since March 2019 after joining the Board in November 2018.’ Sources include Companies House, The Times and The Telegraph

3. Delete ‘and RSA Insurance Group’ in the first sentence as this is a position he no longer holds. Source is an announcement made by RSA Group in March 2021

4. Add the following to the end of the first paragraph: ‘Prior to Sainsbury’s, his Non-Executive roles included Chairman of RSA Insurance Group plc, Chairman of Great Portland Estates plc, Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Worldpay Inc. and Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Lloyds Banking Group plc.’ Sources for these include The Telegraph, The Times, The Times and Speakers for Schools

5. Insert new second paragraph: ‘Scicluna was Chairman of RSA Group from January 2013 until June 2021. In March 2018 he was named FTSE 100 Non-Executive Director of the Year for his work chairing RSA’s board. He was recognised “for having made a significant contribution to RSA’s strategy and for demonstrating high ethical standards and championing strong corporate governance practices.” During his tenure as Chairman, the Board oversaw the sale of RSA Group to Intact Financial Corporation and Tryg for £7.2 billion in June 2021. He was also a member of the Financial Services Trade and Investment Board from 2013 to 2015.’ Sources include The Times, The Times, Companies House, an announcement by RSA Group, The Guardian, Actuarial Post, Financial Times, Finextra and Retail Week

6. Remove current third paragraph and replace with: ‘Scicluna’s executive career was spent at Deloitte where he worked for 34 years, 26 of those as a Partner and where his clients included Dixons, WH Smith and Cadbury. He became Deloitte’s youngest Chairman at 45 and held the position from 1995 to 2007. He also contributed to the Cadbury Committee on Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance and between 1990 and 1995, was an Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Council member, chairing its Auditing Committee.’ Sources include minutes from a meeting of the Cadbury Committee, the book ‘The Auditors Talk: An Oral History of a Profession from the 1920s to the Present Day’, The Times, Retail Week, The Times, Companies House, The Times and The Grocer

7. Move the paragraph about education to the end to make it fourth and amend to: ‘Scicluna was educated at Berkhamsted School, where he received a British Council Scholarship and studied Economics, Law and Accountancy at the University of Leeds. In 2008 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at the University. He is also a member of Speakers for Schools. Away from business he is a supporter of Arsenal Football Club.’ Sources include Speakers for Schools, The Times , the book ‘The Auditors Talk: An Oral History of a Profession from the 1920s to the Present Day’, Tottenham & Wood Green Independent and The Times

Your proposals are reasonable and I wouldn't object them. However, I feel anguish because of the missing wikipediafication of the proposal: There are 17 individual "citations" (if I counted correctly) that are plain bare links; this requires a lot of work and cleanup which I feel shouldn't be done by volunteers if you receive monetary compensation for your edits to Wikipedia. Please see WP:CITEHOW for help. Best regards, -- Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 05:59, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: Please repropose the desired edit with proper references. Best regards, -- Johannes (Talk) (Contribs) (Articles) 17:40, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
