Peer Review[edit]

This article is good at stating what Marwen's building is and details about the transformations the building has gone through.

  • Article is written from a neutral perspective and there are no problems with the article being opinionated.
  • The word Marwen, in the first paragraph, should be bigger to give more of an emphasis as to what the main topic being described is.
  • Wording is confusing and could be worded better for readers to understand.
  • Article is very short in describing what the building has to offer.
  • article could include some details about past events that Marwen has hosted at the building, for example their paintbrush ball.

Here is a source I found on this event: https://marwen.org/events/ev_landing

Also think about fixing their mission statement and describing it further rather then having a short statement and attempting to continue it with another idea that discusses the 24,000 people they help. It may be useful to add information about what Marwen does to raise money or fund their non-profit organization. Redheadchick46 (talk) 02:01, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More Review[edit]

Good start to adding information to the wikipedia page. I think that each section can be expanded on a bit more in general terms. Along with more sourced material. Consider adding more sections. Maybe get into the specific events they hold and what each event benefit, how much specific benefits usually gross, and how they try to target a specific audience for each event. Another thing to consider adding at the very end is a "how to get involved" section. This page is to help promote this non-profit and they are doing great things. After listing all the great things people might want to get involved after reading so link something like this -- https://marwen.org/students/learn-at-marwen/online-registration As far as your sources go, they are great secondary sources. They all seem to back up the information you expanded on well. Drooha2 (talk) 15:40, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review for Class[edit]

  • For the "Building" section, I would suggest coming up with a better header than just "Building". Maybe head it as "Our Location" or something more specific.
  • Is there a specific person or group that started this non-profit. And did they start it because they have a personal relationship to someone whose life would benefit from taking an art course.
  • Maybe mention some specific classes that this non profit offers.
  • Maybe talk about how some of the children who have been a part of this organization have benefited from being included.
  • How does the organization receive funds to keep this charity going.
  • Do they hold annual fundraising events, take donations any time of the year?
  • How do they spend their funds back in to the charity?
  • How do they make themselves aware to the public so that people who could benefit from what they offer re able to join?
  • There is a typo in the first paragraph. It should be "Programming"
  • Do students have to fit any requirements in order to take part in their programs, do they need to pay any funds or donate anything, or can they just come in any time and take part?
  • Is there any way that people can volunteer to help with the program. Whether that is collecting donations, working with children or anything else that the charity needs help with?

Peer Review for class[edit]

Not so sure if there just isn't very much information available on Marwen but the content seems to be very short and limited. I think it would be great to elaborate on who started the program and what exactly prompted the creation of the program- some sort of backstory and information on the founders. In addition, I think it would be helpful to give information as to what kind of programs they have and the type of rhetoric that they teach there. It would also be interesting to know the type of artwork that the students create there, the age groups that the program is available to, and the application process of getting into the program(if any) or if it's available to anyone. Pictures would also be helpful, either of the building itself or any hands on/in-classroom type photographs. It may even be interesting to know the type of people that they employ, if they have art backgrounds or are volunteers, maybe even students interning, etc. Bguyon2 (talk) 03:01, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More peer review[edit]

  • Lead is good and informative
  • I would switch out the Bold Marven to History as the subsection
  • The article is written neutrally
  • Do they have annual fundraising events? If so you could provide information about that.
  • Do they offer summer programs for kids when they are not in school?
  • I would also add to the page how Marwen won the 2016 SEED award for public interest design
  • Does Marwen have a mission statement they hope to follow/ achieve?
  • You also have a source in your reference list twice ref4 & Ref6 are the same
