What about Masking wrt TCP/IP, DNS, etc ?[edit]

On GoDaddy.com (and others?) you can setup Domain Forwarding which essentially does an HTTP redirect, either 301 or 302, to the URL of your choice.

A further option on that type of redirect is to include "Masking". I had come to Wikipedia to see if there was any explanation of how they did it.

And is this a standard thing that other DNS providers offer? If it's an industry standard, then I think it should be added here. Redirects are a hot topic these days, wrt website marketing, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ttennebkram (talkcontribs) 04:05, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
