Is this really necessary?[edit]

"Until the opening of Roy Thomson Hall and with the more intimate Eaton Auditorium were the only substantial concert venues in Toronto and Massey Hall was the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir." -- worst sentence ever written

It's great that so many talented individuals have played here and Toronto should be justifiably proud of this venue and its rich history: but is it really necessary that a large percentage of the article consists of an extremely long list of performers? How about paring this down significantly and trying to hit only the highlights? Any larger sized venue that's been in business as long as this one could put together a comparable sized list with many of the same names; but what is it really telling us about the hall itself which is the subject of the article.
