Unreferenced statement[edit]

I have removed a statement from the article today. The statement was not referenced and contributed by an anonymous editor. Furthermore, the statement was derived from testimony that Mary Winkler gave in the court case. The court case and related testimony is already covered in the Mary Winkler article, no need for duplication in this article. And then, most importantly, it is testimony that might be true, or it might not be true. That Mary Winkler stated it in court and a jury believed it beyond reasonable doubt does not prove it is true. That is why in my opinion it cannot be included in the Brian Winkler article as fact about Brian. It can be mentioned, of course, in the Mary Winkler article, as it is a fact that she stated it. What she has told and others believed needs to stay in the Mary Winkler article, because unfortunately we can't ask Brian to tell his side of the story.

Please do not re-add the statement without discussing it here on the talk page first. Thank you! doxTxob \ talk 18:44, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
