Speedy Deletion Contest[edit]

This page should not be deleted. I moved the information from Rudy Giuliani's biography page to create this more specific page. This is a common trend for many other articles, Mitt Romney and the Governorship of Mitt Romney for example. I copied the texted verbatim and hope to see it expanded. I followed this exact method with Romney's governorship and it has grown into an article that is 80 KB long. This is a good method for cleaning up articles while still allowing to display more percise information about a topic. Rougher07 01:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Rudragpic.png[edit]

Image:Rudragpic.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Clear bias[edit]

Okay this isn't a specific complaint but a broad one about this page. When mayor and afterward, Giuliani was generally regarded as a very competent and successful one, which of course is why he initially was ahead in the primary polls for president. I just read this entire Wikipedia page, and all it does is highlight all the criticisms and gaffes. Several of the sections I was reading I actually thought were under a "Criticisms" header, and then I realized it's not. I am appalled. Even the crime section -- which most experts believe he did a terrific job, as was the feeling in New York at the time, and a minority think he was not the source -- unfairly gives both sides equal room. I think this page needs a lot of fixing up. I'm not actually volunteering myself, but someone should systematically move all the criticism that is dispersed throughout the article into a "Criticisms" section, and make clear that for most of these topics, while a minority were unhappy with him most thought him a hero. (That is not my opinion, that is what the impression of the people of NYC was at the time.) Thanks. Just to add on one more example: the part about Giuliani's Relation with the Education Board is ridiculous! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.89.110.34 (talk) 21:18, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am editing the page to try to conserve NPOV.--Bobjohnson111980 (talk) 07:49, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Bobjohnson111980[reply]

Yes the line on this and many other pages "Under Dinkins's Safe Streets, Safe Cities program, crime in New York City decreased more dramatically and more rapidly, both in terms of actual numbers and percentage, than at any time in modern New York City history." is utter nonsense. Dinkins 4 years as mayor 1990-1993 were the 4 highest yearly murder totals in NYC history. [1] The only source they cite is Dinkins autobiography! A clear violation of Wikipedia rules. I have tried to change this but revisionist POV pushers keep undoing it.Aceruss (talk) 22:50, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I will have to agree with this. IF you were read the Wikepedia article on Che Guevara, it sounds like Che is a saint compared to Rudy Giuliani. The BIAS could not be any greater in this write up.
