Irish name[edit]

User Snappy recently changed the Irish translation of Meath County Council from [Comhairle Chontae na Mí] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help) to [Comhairle Contae na Mí] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help), citing the Irish statute book as the reason. However, the council itself uses the first term with the lenited h in Contae. While similar in appearance, the two actually have slightly differing translations. The first translates, roughly, as "the Council of County Meath" while the second translates as "the County Council of Meath". I'm unsure as to which version should be used, or if both versions should be used. Has anybody any suggestions or input?

There are also plenty of examples of official uses of Comhairle Contae na Mí.

Clarification or suggestions, anyone? --Mac Tíre Cowag 16:17, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
