WikiProject Medicine Student Project, Winter 2022[edit]

Awesome job @Aurelius787 and @Pselvam21! I think it is very adventurous and courageous to start a brand new Wikipedia article. I enjoyed reading your article and feel like I learned quite a bit from it. Great work! My feedback is below. Feedback: 1) Remember to cite every sentence. 2) I am not sure how I feel about linking the "Drug overdose" page to the text "spike dangerously high". Perhaps indicate that a CYP 450 inhibitor could potentially lead to a drug overdose instead. 3) While I don't disagree with what you wrote in the sentence, remember to keep the writing as objective as possible ("Recognizing the key importance of herbal medications to healthcare in the developing world..." in the Quality Control section). 4) I enjoyed reading about the types of plants used in ethnobotany, and so more specific examples of plants used in ethnobotany would be cool. Great job doing that in the Northeast India section. 5) There is a lot of focus on the actual geography of India which I feel could detract from the focus of the article. Otherwise, very nice work. You have both done a wonderful job developing a new and interesting Wikipedia article, that peaks the interest of its readers. Overall, the writing style of the article flowed very well, and it was easy to understand. Some of the suggestions after reading the article include:

When discussing the drugs interactions with ayurvedic medicine you have included the example of ketoconazole, I would just add the specific medical concern that arises with it is used in combination of a CYP3A4 inhibitor.

Thank you for including the research into efficacy section, although you specify that it is difficult to reach conclusions on the efficacy of Ayurvedic treatments given the variation that exists; I would have appreciated any qualitative research on the benefits patients have expressed.

I appreciated how organized the ethnobotany by region section was. If available, it would be wonderful to see more examples of plant uses for the Western Ghats/West Coast region. Additionally, the sentence “Because NER … here is difficult” under the Northeast India section seems slightly subjective.
