Buffy the Vampire Slayer[edit]

This is hearsay, but I've been told that Melanie Lynskey once claimed that she knew her career was going nowhere when she was offered a supporting role on a tv version of a flop movie. That role was Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If anyone can confirm it, it'd be a lovely piece of Trivia.

If Google can't find it, it probably isn't true. Dylan (talk) 17:54, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Divorce[edit]

Has her divorce been finalised yet? Pongley (talk) 00:02, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

But I'm a Cheerleader[edit]

Regarding the reversions, I think there's a way to accommodate this minor but important role Ms. Lynskey played without just omitting it. I'm going to suggest an edit, and I'd welcome other edits to see if we can keep it. Thanks for working with me on this. GetSomeUtah (talk) 09:02, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, I've made a slight edit and hope you approve. Edgein86 (talk) 16:31, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contents list missing[edit]

I really miss the contents list at the beginning, after the short summary - especially with long articles. SamoKuscer (talk) 23:41, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gay Icon[edit]

It seems notable that Lynskey is a gay icon, but I'm unsure where to include it. It started after But I'm a Cheerleader but has continued on. Perhaps following her appearance in the film? Happy to make the change but thought it might be useful to put it on Talk first. Some citations:

John Ritter was never her father in law[edit]

Damon[edit]

Hi EtanEightysix,

Why would we mention Damon in the article? We don't need to know who played Whitacre to understand Lynskey's role in the film. There's no subsequent mentions of him in the article (now that the pull quotes are gone—thanks!).

The other name dropping still in the article is required for the quotes or commentary to make sense... when comments by reviewers discuss Lynskey and her co-stars and there's no elegant way to reword to remove them, then mentioning them makes sense, as does the case if the comments are about her chemistry with so-and-so. —Joeyconnick (talk) 19:29, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Makes total sense, thank you for the clarification! I have amended the passage accordingly. EtanEightysix (talk) 20:15, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
