Shops?[edit]

The article says "The village has a local store, Mere Post Office". Where? I have ridden through Mere ∞ times and I have never found any reason to doubt the local proverbial shoplessness of Mere, forcing its residents to drive to Altrincham for all their shopping, or manage on what can be bought at The Swan and the Bucklow Hill Garage and nearby farms.
- The petrol station behind Mere at the country lane junction near the south corner of Tatton Park closed down a while ago and sells cars but not petrol or confectionery as before. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 18:20, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
