Notability[edit]

Still a bit bothered by what appears to me to be a bad case of WP:NOTINHERITED here. The guy owns a bar (which we don't know the name of), he misses being present for its robbery, his brother is a lot more involved in the robbery, and we spending the article talking about the robbery and the brother but not the subject of the article?

Now, I realize we don't know the name of the brother or the bar. Still, I'd be more comfortable seeing this content moved to Johnny Spanish or even to Mersher Miller's Brother or The Name of the Bar in Norfolk that Johnny Spanish "famously" robbed Whatever the Heck it is (but leaving the appropriate redirects.)

And it's interesting that we consistently, in what few sources exist, don't know the name of the brother or the bar. What few sources seem to exist appear to have gotten their information from one another, or that's how it smells to me. I'm finding this sourcing a bit weak as a result, and the notability of Mersher Miller as a person (as opposed to the robbery event) to be questionable. --je deckertalk to me 21:16, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did some quick research- can't find the name of the bar but I did find a source that claims it was located at 171 Norfolk Street if that helps at all. l'aquatique[talk] 16:45, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If this article is meant to be a biography for Mersher Miller, where is it. So, he owned a bar in New York and employed his bother as barkeep. The rest of the story is off-topic. This is a coatrack article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 09:36, 29 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
