I'm not sure why there's an article about Metro and West Yorkshire PTE as they are both the same organization. It looks like the Metro article focuses on trains while the WYPTE article focuses on buses. Any comments on merging the two? mh. 20:25, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and merge at whichever name you think best, but don't forget to redirect one to the other afterwards. Thryduulf 12:31, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a mergeto tag pointing to WYPTE. Metro is a trading name and I think it would be better to use the offical name for the final article. It'll probably need some fairly major rewriting as well. Just as soon as I've got some time... mh. 22:59, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
You're right about the need to merge, the two articles merge quite well because as you say; one focuses on the MetroTrain rail network and the other on the buses. After months of deliberation (waiting for somebody else to do it) I have merged the two articles myself into the existing West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive article and provided a redirect from Metro (West Yorkshire). Although I haven't re-written any of it, I have re-organised the existing content of both articles removing some of the overlap and I will leave it up to somebody else to re-word it. I also think it would be a good idea to feature the Metro roundel logo however someone is going to have to e-mail Metro for their permission on this.--Neal 16:43, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
