Untitled[edit]

What evidence do you have that Micah's religion is "atheist"? He may have started an atheist club in High School but that does not necessarily mean he is currently an atheist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Germinal1848 (talkcontribs)

Good point. He was still speaking about his experience starting the atheist club as of 2008. Have you seen anything to indicate that his religious beliefs have changed?--Nowa (talk) 22:23, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good faith edit needs a reference[edit]

The following edit needs a reference. Can anyone help? --Nowa (talk) 17:55, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While in college, he led a seres of one man protests of the Iraq war and was arrested several times. He was also apart of the Pro-Palestine movement and the organization "Why War?" as a college student.

Dispute that he is the co-creator of the idea behind Occupy Wall Street[edit]

He is the co-creator of the term "Occupy Wall Street" but there were MANY groups planning general strikes and occupation protests for at least two years preceding the event. Ad Busters provided some pieces of the organizational framework, and did marketing to help initiate the protests, but they tapped in to a very robust and increasingly organized network of groups who had plans for various other dates. Groups like Global Strike on Facebook, which many of the original occupiers had belonged to, had been preparing for such an event for some time. To give him credit for the idea behind OWS is quite frankly, offensive.Mkaney (talk) 03:53, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, it simply needs to be tempered down, perhaps saying that he was one of many who influenced the OWS meme. The idea that a single person came up with the idea is absurd Dhornbein (talk) 22:02, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Revision suggestion: Instead of saying he "is credited with" being the co-creator of OWS, it is more appropriate to say that "Micah M. White takes credit as being the co-creator of the original call for the Occupy Wall Street protests." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.136.49 (talk) 09:18, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
