"Governor of Ohio" Link Improvement[edit]

Rather than linking to Governor of Ohio, linking to List of Ohio Politicians (by state office)#Governors of Ohio and Candidates would be more informative within the context of this particular political race since it lists all candidates involved as well as past governors. If nobody objects I'll probably implement this change within the next few weeks. -- N okla 22:14, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Assault vs. More Detailed Description[edit]

Regarding Mscudder's change from assault to the more descriptive: "rape of a handicapped girl at a Columbus high school, and the school's consequent failure to respond."

This is factual, but is it an important part of the controversy?

I'd argue that it is not. The controversy was about how Coleman handles himself in stressful situations. Coleman is about as responsable for how the Columbus City Schools handled the situation as any other elected city official. It was stupid for him to call, and it was stupid to react the way he did, but I'm not aware of any personal involvment or wrongdoing in the case.

He supposedly called because he felt it was his duty as mayor to defend the city from criticism.

For that reason, I think the edit steers the entry toward a NPOV violation. Perhaps changing the term assault to the more accurate sexual assult might be more appropriate. -- N okla 23:10, 22 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image[edit]

I can't for the life of me get the image smaller. Hopefully someone can offer some assistance. Stubbleboy (talk) 02:15, 31 August 2008 (UTC) {{helpme}}[reply]

Is there any particular reason the image is included at all, given that it isn't especially relevant to Coleman's career? Frankly, unless someone can provide any justification here, including an image of Coleman standing next to two white women in bikinis just above a sentence indicating he supports Obama for president seems a little suspect. If a decent picture of Mayor Coleman is wanted, I'll suggest this one, taken in 2007: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75905404@N00/524146849/ (It has a Creative Commons license) Giles Martin (talk) 14:22, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article could use some neutrality[edit]

I'm tagging this article as not being neutral given that much of it seems intended to promote the mayor and there is no real criticism or balance. I'd welcome some thoughts on cleaning it up.--Analogue Kid (talk) 18:52, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV template without ongoing discussion per Template:POV instructions[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 18:59, 25 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
