Biased much?[edit]

Could this article be any more biased against Mr. Nutter? I know he ticked off some Boy Scouts and those of the right-fringe, but he's actually done some GOOD things throughout Philadelphia. How about we remove that bit about the "imprisoned" former senator and the snipe at the end of the BSA paragraph? 68.81.34.213 (talk) 19:21, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • I should add, the BSA's HQ is City-owned land that was kept for the sole purpose of housing the CoL Council. All Nutter did was enforce the rent. How many other youth organizations have HQ's in city-owned land or buildings? 68.81.34.213 (talk) 19:24, 30 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I think that the whole BSA section needs to be updated. The part that says that the COL left is completely inaccurate. Although many of the services in the headquarters downtown have been moved to the Valley Forge office that had been going on before the law suit. The COL still holds events and meetings in that office. The shop is still there as well.

Also, Mayor Nutter has done some great things like expand the digitization of city records and expand the recycling program through out the entire city. Philadelphia is more transparent than ever before now that citizens can easily access the records. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.83.133.153 (talk) 02:29, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nickname[edit]

OK, somebody, maybe it was a vandal, put the name "Nuts sacks* after his name, which somebody else quickly removed. But it raises the question, does this guy have a nickname? Doesn't anybody even call him "Mike"? I've never heard him called by anything but his full name, middle initial and all, "Michael A. Nutter". What's with that?--BillFlis 00:57, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is "Michael Nutter". Not "Michael A. Nutter", and not "Mike Nutter".Mk5384 (talk) 11:29, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

Page moved from "Michael A. Nutter" to "Michael Nutter". Nutter is almost always referred to, both on Wikipedia and elsewhere, without his middle initial. --Tsk070 03:39, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Perhaps you should have asked before making the move? --evrik (talk) 14:37, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mayor-elect until sworn in[edit]

Please note that now that he has been elected, Michael Nutter should be treated as mayor-elect, and not as incumbent mayor, until he is sworn in in January. Once he is sworn in, he can be referred to as an incumbent mayor, but not until then. --Tsk070 04:53, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rapping?[edit]

I'm not sure if this should be included on the page. He does rap pretty well, I must say. --Sharkface217 06:53, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • It definitely doesn't merit its own section, but perhaps it could be included in a larger "trivia" section. --Tsk070 (talk) 18:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Birth year confusion[edit]

I just corrected the info box. It had said 1956, yet opening paragraph said 1957. It's definitely 1957, because his birth date is in June, and in the spring of 2007, in a mayoral candidates' debate, he declared, "I've been black for 49 years". Hurmata (talk) 02:56, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article is unbalanced[edit]

There is material, with proper citations, on his tenure on city council, but basically nothing about what he has done for the last five+ years as Mayor of Philadelphia. How it it possible that the many editors of Wikipedia can't find a single source for any of his actions the last 5+ years in office?Princetoniac (talk) 18:39, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information on daughter in the lead??[edit]

Why is information on Mr. Nutter's daughter's assault in the lead of this article? It seems like it should go somewhere else. Nutter is known for being the mayor of Philadelphia, not for having a daughter who was assaulted. I'd be bold and do something about this, but I'm not really following the article. I just read the lead and thought that it was odd.74.176.162.196 (talk) 16:22, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The section discussing his mayoralty is long enough and notable enough to be its own article. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  23:58, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mayor Nutter's mayoralty is a significant component of both of his life but also of this article. Therefore, splitting it would add an unnecessary article as well as leave Mayor Nutter's original article as somewhat short. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FB60:1011:2006:0:0:0:166C (talk) 04:09, 20 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Post-Mayoralty[edit]

Michael Nutter's tenure as Philadelphia mayor ended back in 2016. Yet there is still not a section with details about his post-mayoralty.

Inconsistency on birthplace[edit]

The personal details section lists his birthplace as Atlantic City, NJ, but the Early life and education section lists it as Philadelphia, PA.
