Great Lakes State Fair[edit]

The "Great Lakes State Fair" is being reference as the continuation of the Michigan State Fair. It is privately run and has no apparent connection with the former Michigan State Fair. Absent data showing continuity with the former, I propose deletion of the reference or modification to clearly show the lack of connection.Gunahunda (talk) 14:58, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This sentence occurs in the article's penultimate paragraph: "The fair is being built upon the root-strength and tradition of our previous state fairs and will become a showcase for so many assets of Michigan.' I'm disconcerted by the word "our." This isn't part of a quotation. Then, who is the speaker saying "our?' Who is the person who contributed this sentence, and whom does he/she represent? contradiction[edit]

Currently the article begins by saying when the first fair was held, then says this was incorrectly cited as the first state fair, but offers a LATER DATE for the fair that is claimed to be the first. Doesn't make sense. Someone please correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.181.195.29 (talk) 12:03, 22 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
