The Walt Disney Company wanted Mickey Mouse to have a rival in this cartoon. They made Mortimer Mouse in the past before they even made Mickey Mouse. So, the title would be called 'Mickey's Rival.' Because Mortimer Mouse is in fact, Minnie's friend and Mickey's rival
