Not quite sure why his black belt was removed? He, on multiple occasions, has stated that he has and is a black belt, both in his ufc profile, his documentary and in his fight with Hyun Gyu Lim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hitch9140689 (talkcontribs) 12:31, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such thing as a black belt in hands. It was a hyperbole (a quip).Peter Rehse (talk) 12:35, 18 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it was in "These hands" not "Hands". The question stated by the UFC is 'Ranks in any martial arts styles' the key word being 'any'. If Mike Perry has created a fighting style that is less known it would be safe to say it does exists and that making assumptions that it is a hyperbole is disrespectful to his art.

Triad Combat[edit]

Perry's Triad Combat bout is currently listed under his professional boxing record, this seems wrong given the modified rule set (triangle ring, fingerless gloves, additional striking techniques etc.). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.66.253.139 (talk) 09:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Bare Knuckle Record[edit]

Bare knuckle record box should be formatted to match boxing and triad combat record boxes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.7.2.78 (talk) 11:35, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Triad Combat bouts listed under Bare Knuckle Record[edit]

The Triad Combat fights are being listed on boxrec under 'Bare Knuckle Boxing'. This is due to triad being BKB but with MMA gloves in a triangle ring instead of a square. Therefore Mike Perry's BKB record should reflect the record shown on boxrec.

Boxingfan27 (talk) 21:17, 22 February 2022 (UTC)Boxingfan27[reply]

By definition, the Triad Combat rule set required gloves and therefore was not bare knuckle. --92.7.2.78 (talk) 21:21, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the sport is bare knuckle boxing but you don't literally have to have bare knuckles, plenty of fighters fight with their hands wrapped. Should we make another record for 'hand wrapped boxing'?

This isn't up for debate. Boxrec has been acknowledging these bouts as bare knuckle and therefore Wikipedia should reflect that.

If you have a problem with that you can take it up with the Boxrec forums. I've posted inquiries in their forums before and they've been good at getting back to me.
