Belete Gibru: I am not sure where you got your facts from but please refrain form posting false information regarding Yodit Getahun, she was not the first girl to participate in Miss international, Miss international has been in existence since the 1960's so how could she be the first girl to participate? did she participate on her own? You also falsely state she was the first and only African / Ethiopian girl to participate and win Miss tourism of the globe2003 ….again false! I am sorry Sir but you maybe twisting a simple statement.

I did not say Yodit Getahun was the first girl to participate in Miss international. What i said was she was the first Ethiopian beauty queen to participate in Miss international beauty pageant. No Ethiopian beauty queen had ever participated in Miss international pageant representing Ethiopia before Ms. Yodit.this fact can be checked by directly contacting the Miss International Pageant organization official site. Yodit was under a contract with the foundation to do as she was asked, and she was paid a monthly salary of equivalent to 2500 Ethiopian birr by the foundation [ equivalent to a Bank manage in Ethiopia for a 23 year old girl, but this was not good enough]? and sent to 3 international contest, the first time such had happened in Ethiopia’s history, so when you start writing your stories, Please kindly check and provide valid sources, not just tell stories, your Addis Ababa University website link is irrelevant, it is not verifiable in the context of her withdrawing, also how did she get to go to Miss Tourism of the Globe, Miss International & Miss Earth..... By her self? She was never promised she would be travelling all over the world so how did you come about your story.

i am sorry to say this Sir, but You certainly have no idea what you are talking about, i am from Harara, closer to Ms. Yodit's home town, and i sure have heard and even got a chance to remotely notice her presence in the town around every Ethiopian new year celebration for a short time and once when she was celebrating her graduation. she frequently appear and disappear but didn't make any public appearance, i don't know why she didn't continue her study in Addis Ababa university, but if i got a chance to study in Erope, i wouldn't either.

to tell you the truth i don't know much about what exactly happened between her and the Ethiopian Life Foundation, all i know is what has been reported by the Ethiopian mass media, and quite frankly , i have yet to notice any favorable view of the foundation by the entire Ethiopian media. every single magazine and news paper i come across has been reporting very negative news about the Foundation , pedophilia and sexual exploitation of the young girls who are participating in the pageant are some of the recent stuffs under investigation by a group of journalists.the previous pageant participants are coming out with very spooky stories lately, the only positive news i read about the foundation is only here on the internet , that's why i refrain to mention about Ms. Yodit being stripped of her title, because the national media has been consistantly reporting the other way round , Ms. Yodit was actually the one who left the foundation and i don't think you can take back what has already been returned, the truth is certainly in Ethiopia not really on the internet where everyone can post whatever fits his agenda, i suggest you come to Ethiopia if you really want to know the truth about the life foundation and don't let what you read on the internet manipulate you, i wish i could send you some of the news papers & magazines but i am not sure if you can read Amharic, let me know if you are Ethiopian, i will be glad to send you. recently there was a fight between the journalists supporting Ms. Yodit and the foundation leader in Sheraton hotel, i will check out what exactly happened and send it to you,in fact i am going to really dig into this and i will NOT manipulate the story if i ever come across postive views of the foundation and translate the them into English and post them here or some where on the internet, sure i still need to work on my grammar lol

Your Journalist in Ethiopia are all a bunch of cowards and operate on a xenophobic anti Foreigen tone and are simply against the foundation because the owner is A Black and NOT ETHIOPIAN, also none of your newspaers in Ethiopia have provide any proof of the slanderous allegations they print and they just print only them in Amharic so the foundation will not know and hide in the shadows, This you know to be a fact, but you belive it.. that is your Prerogative but know that lies are easily told, Bring even One girl forward to say: blah blahs blah,[spooky stories indeed more like lies all delegatets must be 18 so whehre do you get pedophilia and sexual exploitation of the young girls do you know what this means you sound educated tale like an educated person] in 2007 37 International beauties were taken to Ethiopia for your Millennium, but you can't find anythng positive they have done, how come not one of them ever complained about the foundation or are Ethiopian girls are better than them? ,over 17 Ethiopian girls who had never seen the in side of an Airplane were sent abroad by them to represent Ethiopia just like Yodit, but you cant find anything positive they have done, Might i suggest you contact the foundation before you carry on being lead astray, and repeat the lies you are told by your country men .. Let’s keep this discussion at a professional level.. I don’t understand why are you hating on that little girl? Is it because she wasn’t your typical beauty queen? Or are you one of those rich guys whom she’s broken their hearts unlike? Ooops …did I touch a nerve there? Let me ask you a question, if yodit is the one who refused to return to Ethiopia to work with the foundation, doesn’t that mean she is the one who actually didn’t want the title any more? If she wanted the title, wouldn’t she do what it takes to keep it and not the opposite? How can you take something that’s already been refused to keep any longer? The Ethiopian media has been reporting the real truth , Yodit was the one who returned the title by refusing to continue working with the foundation. The only news you read about Yodit being dethroned is only on non reliable, free website where anyone can write anything he/she wants. If you want to convince, site your evidence from reliable sites, Let’s face it, I may not be good with English and Wikipedia formatting, but at least my references are reliable such as Ethiopian Embassies, African News reporters , news papers and magazines, you don’t see me posting ridicules articles from free websites, do you? its pretty safe that you or someone like you wrote those articles and posted them where they don't cost you money. Why don’t you hate on those beauty queens who only care about their manicure and pedicure? Are you really proud to spread hatred on the girl who had fought for positive causes and maintained her integrity? Have you ever even tried to check on other beauty queens in Addis Ababa and how disgracefully handle their titles? There is a reason why Yodit has gained admire and respect from the Ethiopian people, you never see her talking about her favorite shoes like what other beauty queens do, her speeches and interviews were up their being compared to politicians and philosophers, she is the only girl Ethiopians are proud to call their beauty queen even long after she’s gone. If you were here to notice that, you would never hold such an irrational hatred God knows where it come from! And please refrain from displaying immature comments like “the owner is A Black and NOT ETHIOPIAN” last time I checked Ethiopians were proud of their blackness and culture, I should know, I am one! we are not just blacks we are African blacks! And we love our fellow Blacks, and any human being for that matter. And for the record, there is another foreign Black guy who organizes beauty pageants and sends the winners to Miss World and other international pageants. No Ethiopian journalist wrote negative news about him or accuse him of scam and frauds like they do with the owner of the life foundation. His reputation is highly admired and respected , and let me repeat myself, he is a foreign Black guy just like the owner of the life foundation. Now to tell you what I believe about the owner of life foundation, regardless of his/her wrong doings, I truly believe he/she is the reason why we got to see Yodit portraying a positive role model for Ethiopian women, He/she is the reason why Yodit won Miss Friendship title which showed the values of our culture and good manner to the rest of the world, he/she deserve some respect for that or should even be given a chance to correct the mistakes and understood some of them might have been caused by cultural differences. I don’t understand why the foundation didn’t use Yodit’s positive reputation to overcome the resistance in stead of trying to go negativity about her which was one of the reason why Ethiopians hate on the foundation even more. Ethiopians do not want their role models to be trashed around by a foreigner when she doesn’t deserve it. The anger they hold against the foundation is still strong even if its been years since Yodit is gone. The recent fight between the foundation and the media is a proof. Beauty queens are usually forgotten right after they are named “the former” but see…we are still talking about Yodit , journalists are still digging out more negative stuffs against the foundation , in favor of Yodit, even if she refused to give them interviews that would help them more. Like I said, I am working on to find positive news about the foundation from reliable resources; I am also looking for Yodit’s recent pictures, it’s a little difficult since Yodit doesn’t live in Ethiopia, she only shows up in her home town around Ethiopian new year and disappear again, she refused to give interviews to local and national news papers and magazines. Her family is not cooperating either, her father only once gave a short interview mentioning that he never wanted his daughter to be a beauty queen and that's all. Listen I was I Russia in 2003 and I personally met Yodit anfd the CEO there so I know her very well, It was the foundation that sent her to Russia, Japan, and Phillipines not anybody in Ethiopia, even your Ethiopian Airlines apparently did not help the foundation.

Yodit was removed as Miss World Ethiopia 2003 Only after she refused to return to Ethiopia after being sent to Japan and PHILLIPINES, it had nothing to do with her school, if that was the case she would not have been sent, or have bee sent later rto othehr pageants

I have seen many Emails from Yodit to the foundatioin begging for forgivenes saying her father told her not to return to Ethiopia, but to "take the Chance and make a better life for herself" ,[ I can email them to you if set up a "dummy email" address for this] the you can ask Yodit about them,( and lets eee what she has to say if she wil tell the truth) pls know there are two sidie to every story.

The onwner of a pageant title can take it a way from andy Queen if she misbehaves and does not folow protocol, also please stop saying the foundatin refursed to finance her Objective, Thank God for Western Union recipts which I have also seen showing 2500 birr was being sent to Yodit, 1250 to Muna Fikremariam, and 750 Birr / month to Hanna Tesfaye they are still all alive and can testify to that, + all three of them went abroad to beauty pagents. but maybe you will doubt the western union recipts? Why did Yodit only decied to "stop working for them" after they had spen money and sent her to Japan and Phillipinens and she was safely outside Ethiopia? why did she not complete her mission retuen to ethiopia, then Quit once she was home,No she jumped ship whe she though shye was safely outside Ethiopia.

But again nobody in Ethiopia cares about this, the foundation could not work with Yodit as long as she refused to return to Ethiopia and work as the foundations "Goodwill Ambassador" I dont know why this is so difficult for you or anybody to Understand, so Yodit left Ethiopia in 2004 to attend beauty contest and by your admission only came back in 2006, how was she supposed to work for the 2500Birr she was being given every month and honour contract as Miss Ethiopia World 2003 and the foundations "Goodwill Ambassador"? so Muna Fikremarian succueeded her and was sent to Miss Model of the World 2004.

Belelte do you really think sending 17 other Ethiopian Girls to 50 International pageants since 2003 are all made up? really be serious.......... are you saying it did not happen? and the 37 international beuty Queens did not come to Ethiopia by his hand for MISS TOURISM OF THE MILLENNIUM? well in a few weeks they will may very wellbegin legal proceedings against the Ethiopian Government in International Court because since 2007 and till now your government did not pay even 1 cent of the cost of that event, they also say they have no money, blah, blah, blah.. is this familair for Ethiopians and anything to do with money?....... You heard it first... but your journalist friends will all side the Government they say thay "hate" ignore facts and say "No we don't have to pay him anything because he is a Nigerian" also the same reason why this contest did not retun to Ethiopia last year even though 60 countries were ready to come and It will never return to Ethiopia.

I also wonder why since 2006 no Ethiopian Girl has been to [Miss Universe] when the foundation last sent a girl to Miss Universe? everybody was fighting them for the Miss Universe lisence [ beacuse there was a stupid rummor that the foundation is paid US$100,000 every year to send a girl From Ethiopia to the contest by Donald Trump], but now nobody wants to pay the actual US$25,000 fee it costs from their pocket to send an Ethiopian girl to Miss Universe. the foundation also helpped to Put Ethiopia onthe map durring your Millsnnium or did you and your journalist friends miss that as well?

Yodit was a briliant girl who was just lead astray by close people to her and tried to take advantage of the foudations sponsorship pure and simple and she came unstuck, but to continue to balme the foundation for her mistakes is 100% wrong all the Queens after her are now living in USA / Europe doing very well thanks to him, Yodit could have been one of them......

This "fight" you talk about in Sheraton is strange news, as nobody from the foundations Board is in Ethiopia or has been there for a while, so this may be just another deliberate act to smeer the owner, please please send me more detils and I can look into it.

Some of the comments by Belelte violate WIKI's NPOV, if you read his version it is a Sexed up verion and it is clear that he is far from neutral, to say The foundation failed to honour it financial obligations...etc. is 100% unsourced etc and unverifiable. who setd the budge and financial obligations of a pagent organisation, the Queen or the Board / CEO?

Also everybody knows that a Pageant organisation owns the titile and crown and can take it away from the queen if she misbehaves during her reign, examples:

so the title & Crown do not belong to the "Queen" but the organistion whom she is under contract to and in this case it is clear that she did.

there is no evidence that she resigned, on the contrary all the evidence is that she was dethroned

The following sources are unreliable and should not be used to support statements made in the text:

[2]] is not a reliable source for the statement "largest producer of beauty pageants" and all statements backed up by this source should be removed.
The ethiopia media site [3] says "lost her titles as goodwill and hiv ambassador" not that she was stripped of her miss ethiopia world title. This source should be removed.
This tripod site doesn't seem reliable to me and should be removed from the article.
The Tadias site looks fine and is reasonably reliable as support that she was stripped of her title. It would be good to add a couple of other independent news sources though.

The fact that she lost her title: I guess it seems reasonably backed up (Tadias site) and can be used in the article. However, I don't see why it needs to be said again and again. The story is straightforward and doesn't require a lot of words. She was the Miss Ethiopia World for 2003. She was stripped of the title by the Ethiopian Life Foundation when she stayed back in the Philippines after participating in the Nov 2003 Miss Earth contest. End of story. The rest (unsourced statements about Yodit Getahun, future Miss Ethiopias, or about contests that may be held in Ethiopia) is unnecessary. The entire article should be about three short paras.
