MISS REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

Does anyone have pics of the winners wearing their Miss Rep. of South Africa sashes? were they in Afrikaans? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.142.51.43 (talk) 08:49, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Full articles needed - most of Miss South Africas were very high profile, and widely featured[edit]

Most of these women, particularly till the late 1990's were major celebrities in South Africa, and I would say notable enough for their own articles. Certainly, if Reeva Steenkamp was notable for her pre-murder profile as a model, then most/all Miss South Africas before 2000 would make the cut, as they were very widely featured in the media, due to South Africa's isolation, and dearth of celebrities. Indeed, the notability of newer winners, is probably lower than those from the earlier era, despite recent winners all haveing articles. Park3r (talk) 15:25, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Miss South Africa 1982 until 1984 was actually Sandra de Meyer. The Rapport started their own pageant called Miss RSA but changed their name to Miss SA in 1982. Just like Margaret Gardiner, Odette Scrooby was a Miss RSA / Miss SA from the Rapport Pageant and not the Sunday Times pageant (the original holders of the pageant name Miss South Africa). Either you must add Sandra De Meyer to 1982 - 1984 or you must replace Odette Scrooby with Sandra all together and remove 1983 as Miss South Africa did not have a title holder for 1983. The Rapport and Sunday Times joined forces in 1985. 165.73.121.77 (talk) 21:59, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Africa South[edit]

As Miss Africa South redirects here, shouldn't there be a table of the winners of that contest? --- Robina Fox (talk) 22:23, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
