Why is Mr Heimburg down as both Ashkenazi and Sephardi? Heimburg is scarcely a Sephardi name; does he have an Ashkenazi father and Sephardi mother? 81.134.14.236 19:42, 19 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. Her Mom's family is from Istanbul. Elyaqim 20:14, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

notability?[edit]

is this person notable? seems like just an everyday drag queen. i see an entry at imdb but they look like bit parts.

I'm not sure if you didn't read the article, but since the subject is notable enough to have appeared in multiple television shows and movies as herself, has started a business that has provided entertainment to some of the most premiere events, is referred to in multiple publications in a Google search as a "downtown star", and is known in New York as a celebrity and a pioneer (per the interview that is included), yes, that clears the notability test. Tag removed. If there is any further question, I'll have the LGBT project handle inquiries since Miss Understood is a star most especially within that community; kind of our own Stokely Carmichael of sorts. --David Shankbone 12:46, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i did read the article, it didn't have any citations. it says she was in "sex and the city" but isn't credited on imdb for that, so i'm guessing it was just a bit part. bit parts don't pass wiki's notability guidelines. the interview appears in an escort service website, not really a reliable source for wikipedia. she may be notable in thew new york drag community, but thats not enough for an article. i'm putting the tag back in till we can get some reliable sources that indicate she's notable.

none of the concerns above have been addressed. she is interviewed, but by an escort service. sorry chaps, that isn't encylcopedic or notable. do not remove the tag until this has been cleared up, either with proof of notability or a deletion of the article.

[1], [2], [3], [4] seem to indicate notability to me. Sign your messages please, or I will ignore them. You have been warned three times and your only reason to not use them is to piss others off. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dev -- assume good faith and be civil. You can't warn people to stop editing.
Here's what one of the refs says: "Miss Understood, has enough difficulty rounding up three reasonably sober, mildly entertaining contestants every week. She's not going to become a stickler for rules and risk losing a weekly gig that pays her one hundred dollars and a free portion of sweet and sour pork.". Doesn't sound notable to me. Can you explain otherwise?

Dev: I think the criteria for notability per WP:Notability has now been established on the article and this page. The IP pointing to one missing role on the IMDB, while ignoring the other roles, is not cause to maintain someone is unnotable. The IP points to one source while ignoring the others and not doing her own due diligence. In order for the notability tag to go up, the IP should make a case that this person is not notable, not just take issue with trifles and argue conjecture. We aren't here to "prove it", although we already have. Nice going Dev - have a nice day. --David Shankbone 17:11, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birth year[edit]

What's Miss Understood's correct birth year anyway? -82.147.166.212 (talk) 18:49, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sometime after the Irish Potato Famine, I'm guessing. (just kidding) 38.109.88.196 (talk) 21:06, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
