Navy designation.

I was curious about the navy designation, since "Ki-xx" is only used by the Army. I figured it would be GxM or PxM, as per G4M and P1Y (Japanese military aircraft designation systems...hadn't realized that they used a single number sequence across all manufacturers, unlike the US, so you would never get an "A6M" and an "A6K" (ie F4F vs F4U in the USN)...there can only be one "A6", regardless of manufacturer. Anyway, didn't take long to get a hit for a "P2M Hiryu", the Ki-67 being the second "P" type bomber accepted after the P1Y. Here is the page: http://tbo.wikidot.com/airlists-jnbm. The page appears to be some sort of alternate history website - note how it talks about the type being in use until 1953 and the long list of increasingly fiction types, including supersonic thermonuclear armed manned kamakaze aircraft. Indonesia?

I can't seem to find any support for the Hiryu serving in the Indonesian Air Force. This was added by an IP back in 2013, and has never been referenced. Jos Heyman makes no mention of a Ki-67 anywhere in his monograph on Indonesian aviation, which makes me doubt the veracity of this. I am placing a {{cn}} tag for the time being, but hopefully someone has evidence of a Hiryu in AURI service because that would be really cool.  Mr.choppers | ✎  02:45, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

I see 800kg and 1070kg, is that what you're referring to? 800kg is for the type IB, it is not specified which version could carry 1070kg. Perhaps we should find out.  Mr.choppers | ✎  01:45, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
